Yeah. It's primarily a home defense gun, so I figured a pump would make it a tad more intimidating, in the hope that racking it would scare a would-be intruder enough for me to not have to shoot them. And on the occasions where I'd be hunting or sport shooting, it ups the fun factor just a little bit more. I haven't actually shot this gun yet. Still waiting on my application process for the shooting range I'll be joining. I've shot my friend's pump a few years back, so I was familiar enough with it to know I'd rather have a pump than a semi-auto.

Since it's a defense gun can you hold your finger on the trigger and pump it and fire?

I don't think so. It says there's a trigger disconnect so I'd assume that it can't be slam fired. But it's not really intended to be used as a defense gun. I just bought the 18.5" tactical barrel so it can be used as a more maneuverable defense gun...it's main purpose is for hunting. I guess I worded that last post a bit poorly. I only meant that MY primary use was for home defense. I'll only reattach the 28" barrel when taking it out to shoot. The 18.5" barrel stay on when it's inside my home.

Picked up a Taurus .44 Magnum yesterday. So far I love it!

Nothing special for pictures thus far. Just some cell phone pics.

Shot for the first time at the range today. Iron sights unadjusted from 30' until I get a better feel for the gun.

Without question the Kahr PM 9. It's what I carry every day. It's small enough that it doesn't print easily. It's not very heavy for a 9MM. And it shoots very well for it's size. They are a lot mare expensive than the Kel Tec's but are MUCH better built. However, you can get the CM 9 as it's the same gun, just a budget version.

    Here's mine:

First and foremost, what do you want to do with the gun? If it is just home protection I wouldn't recommend getting a .44 Magnum as it only holds six rounds and is a bit of a handful for that sort of thing. Good gun for hunting or bear protection though. I have a Springfield XD 9mm and it is phenomenal. Springfield Armory has great customer service, and the XD is VERY reliable. I have shot over 1,000 rounds out of mine without any FTF or FTE. Personally, the XDm is a waste of money unless you need replaceable grips and a mag that holds a few more rounds for an extra $200. .45 is a decent home defense gun. Though, if you plan on taking it to the range from time to time just get a 9mm. You can plink around all day with a 9mm without spending too much. .45 ACP ammo is expensive, and in my opinion, a fat, lazy, and slow ammunition. Not only that, you can usually only hold between 8-13 rounds in a mag. Get some home defense rounds for a 9mm for home and you're good to go.

Or if you just want a fun gun with some good kick (expensive ammo), get a .44 mag. I did just for the hell of it.
