I redid my headlights last year (well Ictponder redid them) after they were done i clear coated them.
Sadly i think Michigan weather is taking its toll on the clear coat and it seems to be separating from the
lexan. Mostly at the top of the headlight around the edge. Is it safe to re-sand them again? I'm thinking I
wont clear coat them this time.

Heres some pics of my headlights.

Has anyone thought about making a mold of the lexan and remaking the parts in a clear plasic w/o the paint?

and 99 covers never emerged. clear 99 covers would probably sell like hotcakes if the price could be kept ~200-300 a set.

Which is really stupid since the 99 headlights don't need to be clear. They look fine the way they are...

Oh the things people would buy just to be different.

Vacuum reduction, Powdercoated misc, cruise relocate, Evo9 BOV, Custom catch cans, Russell fuel filter, SS braided fuel lines, High flow fuel loop, Autogage fuel gauge, Catless DP, DNP Y-pipe, Fuel pump hotwire.

the 99 covers look decent. i still think that clear covers would allow others with non-99 lights to "upgrade"--without the cost of buying new 99 lights (which the supplies of will eventually dry up). it would also allow people to paint/cover them as they wished--especially if you painted inserts, not the covers themselves.

I sold the semi clear lexan ones to another forum member, who after 10 hours of sanding and buffing got one of them clear as day So it can be done, just not easily.

Those look awesome, Silver. I wish there was just some way to get rid of those damned rings on the lexans.

Does anyone know if the lexan is the same shape and thickness as the glass? All I have are glass headlights, and if it is identical I can try and make a mold from it and produce acrylic lenses.
