Don't get me wrong, I have no delusions on what the COTM here or the ROTM over on 3SI is and have no issues not getting the popular vote because that is not what I'm on car forums for. I entered this month because I saw a post from Christy trying to drum up entries close to the deadline and didn't want her to get a month with no entries. I'd prefer to be in a 3 to 5 car poll and wouldn't have entered it I knew there was going to be 8 others. What struck a nerve for me was the "you two have done the most" line.

My engine was built to take big turbos but scaled down to give longevity. With 400HP to 4 wheels at 14 psi, nothing is getting strained and should last a long time. I was going to go the 19T route or even bigger, but decided that would end the reliability that I enjoy now and 15Gs in this car is still really fast on the local streets. Now the urge to go fast on the track is a different story and not wanting to take the risk of damaging my VR4, I bought the B1 Bomber Stealth for such activities. DR1000s and all the supporting mods in a lightened car painted a COTM/ROTM color should be a serious contender.
FIrst peek at the new project.

Well, you're right. Maybe I shouldn't have said they had done the most. Everyone here including myself has done something to there car and deserves equal recognition. To be honest I just joined this to test the water. I'm not sure how people make there votes. This will most definitely be the last time I enter for COTM. Even after I get it painted and redone, its just not my cup of tea. Only competing I would like to do is on the race track. Good luck to everyone and now that I have actually looked at all the contestants cars I don't understand why the votes aren't balanced out a bit more everyone has something or another that stands out as exceptional and adds to an overall fantastic project.

and you've summed up in a nutshell what i had against another 3/s member (who i'm not going to name). imho, buying it pre-modded in mint condition doesn't deserve accolades. if someone like bslade or sin'svr4 were to sell their cars to someone else & that person put the car up for ROTM, it would no longer receive my vote. even if you're still "paying" to have the work done for yourself; i have more respect if it's a project of your own volition, rather than the handiwork of someone else.

again though, that's just my opinion; that & $5 will get you a starbucks latte.

    p.s.

johnny, if my car goes up for the 500+hp month, it looks like it will have some competition.

Ya perfect and johnny i hear ya. I have done so much to this car it actually makes me sick, at what I could've bought with the $$ spent on her. But, I love my car and get nothing but respect for the tasteful job. No eccentric stuff on my car . I think everyone deserves accolades who has the nuts to even enter a COTM. I had no idea this many votes would come my way. I have alot of supporters and followers of my car from the beggining to where it is now. Ihave had soooooo many problems and maybe they r sympothy votes Thanks guys tho for the support.

btw sick looking build on that race car

Pure luck, a member on the "other" site had it for sale, it was "dibbed" by Cianci so he could make more. I sent PM'd to the seller how I would take it if Cianci backed out. I PM'd Ciance how I wanted to buy that once once a mold was made. Well I received a PM from the seller stating that he hasn't heard back from Cianci, so he sold it to me.

I know this tune all too well, my wife likes to joke how she knows where the mistress lives and if she gets too pissed off by her, she'll just burn down the garage. Of course she wouldn't really do that....I think

This is the one thing that I wish I could say that I was responsible for but can not, at least yet anyway, I didn't buy the car because it was Hennessey tuned, I bought it because it only had 24,xxx miles on the car. I also don't get full of myself because the car is Hennessey tuned, there are many members here that have achieved way more then Hennessey Motorsports ever accomplished with the platform.

Inperfect, I didn't take this as a slam against me....at least I hope it wasn't, but I do fit that mild for right now, hopefully my attitude has never reflected it.

Just so I understand what you are saying, (I think I do), you have driven your car 100,000 miles in 8 years and it has cost you $30,000 to do that. If that is correct, does that include original purchase price?

i think you're cool as hell--and if i see you at the NG, i'ma buy you a beer. in fact, most of the people i know who bought their cars "intact" are actually pretty humble about it. there was a certain someone who previously had a 99-converted vr4 who was pretty snotty about it though. it's a nice car, but i don't think he should have gotten ROTM. the 3/s community takes all kinds. i've seen owners who had the shittiest 3/s imaginable, but they were awesome as a person & fun to hang with. i've seen others who had the nicest 3/s's and were uppity as fuck.

let's see if i can remember:

    purchase price $6,000
    transmission rebuild $2500
    fiberglass hood $500
    4 sets of tires (JUST purchased my latest set) $3600 ($600, $600, $1200, $1200)
3x brake jobs (including the tt-swap i just did to the front) $1000 (guess)
a/c compressor, clutch and blower (guess) $2000
    alternator & 2 batteries $1000
    2x 60k service $3200
    volk wheels $2600
complete exhaust x2 (one for n/a/tt, one for after AWD) $600
    tt-motor swap $5,000
    harmonic balancer $500
    awd conversion $4,000

i'm lost...how much is that so far?

also had the sunroof repaired, remote-start installed, countless oil changes, over 6 trans flushes, numerous coolant flushes, and a lot of "minor" mods that have probably nickel & dimed me to another grand or so.

Thanks. The car is in pieces now. There are things that I do not like and will redo to my vision. The short block is on the east coast now waiting to get finished up and shipped to me. I have most of the bolt on pieces in place for when it arrives and hope to start on it when the weather stays above the high 40s. This is the car I want to take to Indy this year and it will be crunch time from the break in weather to the tune right before trailering it to NG11. I have to do a complete interior, some rewiring and hopfully a paint job. I haven't painted in over 20 years and the material prices have given me sticker shock, but I will overcome that. At worst, It will be there wearing hotrod black primer.

I had to go back to see which month was the 500+ one. I hope it is still running by then to be eligible. As I said, this one is the beast, not the pretty white VR4. Its main purpose in life is to be evil, mean, wicked and nasty. With all the pieces and parts in place 500 hp will be the 80% mark on pump gas. If it doesn't, then I'll have spent a lot of time and money for nothing. IPS tunes my VR4 and depending on Time left to NG11, money left and getting over my dislike for the NYC area of the world, I might see about getting the tune done by a guy at a little shop on Long Island instead of down in Columbus. I hear he has done one or two of these cars and has had somewhat of a success rate on inducing HP out of a six-banger.

    $7,500 (vr4/rt-tt) + $15,000 (mods for 500+ awhp) = $22,500 + $7,500 (to look purple) = $30,000

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!
