Thread: Ultimate frustration with EVO Scan / ECU Flash

  1. #21
Using the latest ECU Flash, I am absolutely unable to install the open port 2.0 drivers. I even installed the 1.3 drivers thinking that they would allow me to install 2.0, but it immediately fails without even trying. I must have uninstalled and reinstalled 6 tines already

Are you installing everything in the Program Files X86 directory? Please say no.

I tried that shit x86 ONE time and saw my DataSettings folder disappear. That was the end of that.

Installing onto the desktop isn't any better. Just install it into its own folder on the C:/ drive

all the defaults on evoscan and ecuflash work fine, I don't know why you guys have so much trouble. You do need the latest version of ecuflash if you ever use windows 8.

Yes, the datasettings folder should be in your documents folder, but it will do that automatically. The reason it is not is because the file protection system in windows restores "system" (which now include some program files folders) to what it believes their original state was to preserve system integrity. You can even fix that if you delete the snapshots after making a change to program files. I posted a thread regarding this for evoscan 2.6 driver setup.

I emailed Tactrix and they sent me a beta version of ECU Flash installer and it installed the 2.0 drivers flawlessly.

However I am STILL not getting the option to select MUTII 3000GT from evoscan.

    Nice to see progress

Are you saying you don't have the 3000GT EFI in the selection of what to log? Did you get the 3000GT XML file from Greg and place it into the correct folder?

With the car on, check to see if 12v is coming from the red wire you installed in the back of your obd1 connector.

Double check your red and yellow wires installed in the obd1 plug.
The yellow wire is in the corner #6 spotand the red wire is in the #2 spot.

Of course. I put it in the "Data Settings" folder in my documents. I moved the folder from the desktop to the 'C' drive and that didn't help either. So I tried uninstalling (so I can re-install on the 'C' drive instead) and now the install program gets stuck on "preparing to uninstall".

    FML.

I'm doing a system restore now to try and remedy this.

    EDIT:

System restore timed out and canceled itself. Fuck this laptop. I'm buying an acer mini off craigslist (win7) right now.

Still getting a low voltage message. I'm getting .223v to the small red wire that goes to the small grey plug
