Hard to say what's cost me more, but let's face it, my car has been with me for 11 years and I've been banging my wife for ~17. So even if it's an equal amount, I've gotten WAY more miles out of the wife than the car. True Story.

My wife does the budgeting. She's the reason we've got almost 6 figures saved for retirement--because I'd be buying useless shit (not necessarily NOT on the 3/s).

Brian needs to get a different job. If you're spending 6 grand on self medicating each year, you could get lower stress job that pays 3 grand less and still come out ahead.

Mine has earned / saved me over $200K over the years

and I saw a guy on the discovery channel free swimming with a great white shark and he didn't get eaten alive but that doesn't make it remotely normal.

If women was changed to alcohol then I'm pretty sure I would have a little more money in my bank account.

In an approximate one year period I spend $5,000 and $6,000 on alcohol.

and that's why I stopped going to Taco Mac. I've got over 140 beers on my "Brewnaversity" list. given the prices for their beers that's a lot of damned money over the years.

She talked me into buying my '99 VR-4 before we had our kiddo. She plays video games, reads comics, makes good money, her and I both live on a set reasonable budget (monthly allowance to buy whatever the fuck we want) and supports my car hobby.

Yeah, no women bashing, just a list of them I broke up with until I found the awesome one to marry.

We hit 12 years together in January.

Your woman should be working with you to create more wealth for the both of you. Not working against you.
