the journey of my hood (lots of pics)

so many many years ago I purchased a carbon fiber hood from a local member. Its the one thats always been on the car, it was decent. Time had taken its toll on the finish however, and in recent times it wasnt exactly in good condition. I have a friend that paints cars over in greeley for a dealership, and he mentioned he could fix it up for me. So I decided to cut some vents in it before I took it, I figured worse case its not going to get any worse than it was. Well I picked it up yesterday and wow... wow... still in disbelief how it looks. Here is a picture journey..

    pretty new

    more recent, looking crappy

    pre-surgery

    post-surgery

    during refurbishing..

    pre-paint

and after I brought it home yesterday...

Ill have pictures on the car soon... my build is almost complete. And I need to detail the car really bad, haha.

haha, only on the carpet dont worry!

I forgot to say, I also have a cf panel that im going to put under the front opening, so you wont be able to see the engine, but it will allow air to flow in. The rear cut out will get some kind of black mesh.

As for air flow.. my intention was to flow air over the plenum to cool it off while moving. Then let the hot air out from the turbos while stopped. So im hoping under hood temps drop a lot.

certainly. i'm just hoping that it doesn't negatively impact airflow through intercoolers, etc.
