    Headlight MOD

I started this before Christmas, then paused when I discovered LED halos.

Started by grinding the insert's tunnels to have a flat / somewhat flat mounting surface:

Then sent the inserts out to have them "Hydo-inked" to look like carbon fiber:

Drill tiny holes in the tunnels in three locations to mount the CCFL halos with fishing line:

    This was only temporary.

Powered them up to see how it turned out:

Did not like that gap that is the "nature of the beast" with CCFL halos.

Paused due to Christmas events and found LED halos during that break and went with those instead:

    Powered these up:

No gap! and thanks to 57 LEDs in that ring the hotspots are not as bad

Thank took Quicksilver epoxy putty around the halo to assure that the headlight's lite would not shine between the gaps of the halos and tunnels:

Now I need to remove the CCFL halos and mount the LED halos and finish this project

    LOOKS GOOD

LED halos do not compare to CCFL... I'm never using CCFL halos again LOL, now that quality LED halos are more affordable. I just got done doing a set for another member, and I used the same halos. You cannot look directly at them, up close, without being blinded for a minute... that's how bright they are. Plus they don't require a ballast, and they are not as fragile as CCFL. When I get a chance, I'm changing the halos in the 99 lights to LED.

The only thing I had to do was use a little liquid electrical tape of the power/ground wires, to hold them into place. I accidentally pulled one off, they are not soldered in too well actually. That would be my only complaint about them.
