Slip n Slide @ Pacific Raceways

I havent been to PR since July 2011, decided I didnt want to wait 20 months to go again so I signed up a few weeks ago.

It was the Proformance Racing School running the show and as always do a bang up job making sure everything goes well.

I showed up around 8:15, and by 9:15 we were on track! It was quite wet, the range of cars was about normal, there was a V10 R8 there, that was cool and a pretty sick race prepped 3 series. Later in the day a newer GTI showed up that even the R8 couldnt catch on the straightaway...

I didnt realize my camera will only record for 30 minutes :/ Getting a 16gb memory card and wont have that problem anymore, was only able to record 2 half sessions.

This was the first session, we had followed the track taxi pace car for 2 laps before lining up for a staggered start. You can see (and hear) my first time through 5a/5b I had an "Oh Shit!" moment. It was really slick, in the dry I can do that @ 70 mph, entering at 50+ was white knuckle yesterday. The Subaru wagon was cool! Full STI running gear with bolt ons, gutted, rollbar, he was on Continental DW tires, the first session I was able to pressure him to let me pass but later in the day he grew more confident and was able to get by me.
The 360 guy, lol, he was very timid in the AM but the later sessions he began to open it up and at least get to 7/10 of the car's potential.

This is the first half of my 2nd session. The M3 in front of me was parked next to me in the pits and we hung out all day, I was surprised I kept up! In the dry he does 1:42/41's, a GOOD lap for me in the dry is a 1:45 so his car is faster and he has a bunch more experience at the track than I. I think the AWD assurance in forward traction and him having to dial back on that peppy V8 made up the difference.

About the oil..... I still havent looked at my undercarriage dry yet, I know it seeps but I will determine if it was me or not shortly and fix the issue.

On the way there in the AM.

Besides the suspected trans fluid leak, car was wonderful, XYZ brakes were flawless, engine was great, no left turn oil pressure issues.

Ok one thing broke, my front strut top mounts are GONE! clunk clunk clunk clunk, holy crap they are wiped out.

Edit: Top mounts just needed tightening, all quiet now.

Watched the 1st vid, very cool but I have to admit I'm pretty timid of wet roads. For a little bit anyway, the car does so good in the wet now I get sort of ballsy after a while.

    You passed a Ferrari dude!

What percentage would you estimate you were pushing traction, other than the oh shit moments?

Great to see. Hey do you have pictures of how these wheels fit with the fenders? Do they poke out, or are they flush? Thanks...wanted to grab a pair now.
