This season has left me uncertain...all around. The only team I see being very dominant is the 49r's. Their defense is disgusting. Packers need to improve if they plan on going all the way. Time will tell.

Patriots W T F was that?

I really don't care for the defenseless reciever rule, but that should have been a PF with or without it. 1. He launched 2. He was too high
And that game still makes me sick.
Apparently, he heard me through the TV.

Yeah, I don't like it either.
1. To my knowledge, there's nothing that says you can't launch. You just can't spear with your head. He did not spear.“It is a foul if a player initiates unnecessary contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture.
(a) Players in a defenseless posture are: [. . .]
(2) A receiver attempting to catch a pass; or who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a runner. If the receiver/runner is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player;
[. . .]
(b) Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is:
(1) Forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenseless player by encircling or grasping him; and
(2) Lowering the head and making forcible contact with the top/crown or forehead/”hairline” parts of the helmet against any part of the defenseless player’s body.”
2. I can't tell from this angle, but it looks as if the hit is to the shoulder pads/chest, rather than the head/neck. Plus, he caught the ball, faced the defender and took ~2 steps(aka becoming a runner, admittedly this one is borderline and probably should've been called). HOWEVER, the rule is not being called consistently, and I don't mean just this year with the replacement refs. It was the same way last season.
3. Finnegan is a dick that gets away with a lot of shit, and baits players into pf's. Still no excuse for Morgan throwing the ball; friggin' bonehead.

Yes, but none of that happened. What I see is Morgan getting tattooed so hard in the chest that his head snaps back. It is a shitty angle though. Perhaps a different camera would show he did get struck in the neck.
In this still frame, it is clear the helmets never make contact. I can also see the defenders right and left hand to Morgan's right side. He's maybe a touch early, but a no call there is legit in my book.
Yes, James Harrison simply being on the field is a personal foul, according to the refs. He makes some nasty, and often dirty, hits, but he also gets unfairly categorized a lot.
Jeremy
Amature hour.
