the better processors come with the 1920x1080 screen.

It isn't "retina", but at least you can set the thing to the full resolution, roflmao.

I'd pony up for the i5. Soon we will have full convergence where you take your computing power with you and just use the peripherals most appropriate to the setting.
Good luck tuning your car with Windows 8.

there are already people who have used ecuflash with the windows 8 previews, so I'm not sure what you are trying to imply here.

I don't understand what your problem is. Did Windows 8 come and burn your house down or set your car on fire? It is not even released yet and you are saying it is going to be so flaky it can't maintain a usb connection for 30 seconds.

Maybe because they essentially turned the next version of Windows into a shitty tablet OS and crippled the normal desktop functionality to do so. I don't see what the obsession with tablets is in the first place, so maybe I'm just weird.

The normal desktop is there if you want to use it.

Yeah, with an overly complex procedure and with some limitations:

I don't expect 8 to be perfect anyway. Pretty much every other version of windows has growing pains. It is necessary for progress.

The public perceptions is going to be bad for 8 no matter what, just like it was for Vista. 7 is a savior when on a computer that is already setup they both run similar enough normal people can't tell the difference.

Windows 9 will come out and they will have everything ironed out. I'd rather see this than no progress at all, but you are free to go back and run XP if you want to.
