Racing seats, what are you running and what bracket/ mounting modifications? Comfort?

I think I'm going to have to reconsider the Torino seats after looking at those pics. I think I'll be too close to the ceiling and temple height with the rollbars for a future cage.

Can those be dropped any or is that the fixed height with the slider?

I've yet to see any Corbeau setups, anyone have any?

The sparcos have the sliders, then an adapter bracket set, and then the mounting plate to match your car. The adapter brackets can be used to raise or lower the seat height. I don't recall how close to the ceiling mine were (they are out of the car right now). I know mine was sitting at the lowest possible setting without having the do some welding (which would have allowed for another 1/2" of clearance).

My experience with racing seats in these cars has shown that unless you buy some Bride Gias seats, prefab brackets will reduce your headroom too much if you are tall. I run a Gias knock off but in order to maximize headroom I worked with Xwire to have him fab up a custom slider, and now I have more head room than I did with the stock seat. So if you have a welder or a buddy who has one, I would use steel stock and make your own.

I agree, my seat is side mounted to a corbeau frame - no slider or butt padding to increase headroom.

I am thinking about getting the factory "bump" points cut off and a mount made directly to the floor.

I have the Corbeau CR1 with the Corbeau bracket. I like the seat, comfortable, but the bracket sits too high. I'm 6ft and I have to lean back to have enough headroom. It's on the list for winter projects to mod the bracket for more head room. The other thing that kinda sucks is the reclining lever is on the inside next to the center console. I bought the seat second hand so I'm not sure if they're all that way or I just have a passenger seat in the driver's spot. I do notice when you order them on IPS it doesn't ask if you need passenger or driver. The pic has the lever in the same spot as mine. The problem is when you try to use the stock seat belt, the buckle attaches to the frame and the lever mashes up against keeping you from sliding forward as much as you may need.

BTW, I have Kirkey Aluminum Roadrace Series 37 Seats. Interestingly enough they're quite comfortable. They look really uncomfortable because you see all that metal but they're not at all. I'm 6ft 185 with a 46 shoulder and a 32 waist and my seat fits me perfectly. I did go to the expense of paying $100 for molds, after that the seat is more comfortable than any aftermarket I've sat it (Even Sparco Evo's surprisingly).


FYI, They also weight under 15lbs and meet FIA.

I can take a pic tomorrow of how it sits in the car. I have maybe an inch of head clearance. If I slouch and lean back like I'm in high school again I have more clearance but then I get pulled over more. I have to grind out two of the mounting holes with a dremel to get the holes to line up with the ones in the floor. Not the best mounting system, but I like the seat itself.
