ok guys. NOW the world cup just got super interesting. two-time consecutive world-cup (and defending) champions--germany--just lost a quarterfinal match to MUTHER FUCKING JAPAN!!!!! not only is this the first time japan has ever made it to the semi-finals--this is also the worst showing germany has ever had in the world cup--tying their exit in 99.

france advances to the semi's for the first time ever--due to a penalty shoot-out with england.

that's right; two teams who have NEVER BEEN to the semi-finals before are now in. and the USA (rank #1) faces brazil (rank #3) tomorrow. this is going to yield an even more interesting conclusion to an already amazing world cup!

W00t. How convenient, it's on right now, and we're up 1-0! Go USA!!!

How much of this Brazilian team is left over from the one that pwn3d us a few years ago?

WTF kind of bullshit is this??? A second PK for that? Do they not have instant replay in international soccer???

Odd that our girls are all pretty and the Brazilian team, with a few exceptions, are kind of ugly.

Man, I thought refs could ruin Football - this is amazing - there is no comparison to CFB. No wonder hooligans cause riots afterwards. The game is so unfair, so easily bastardized by bad calls. The better team could easily lose with just one or two bad calls (see today's game).

I hate how playing hurt gets you points in soccer. There is no place for that in professional sports. The men do it even more, pathetic. This is one of the biggest detractors to soccer IMHO.

wow. greatest game in the history of sports. GO USA!

red card. double penalty kick. playing down a man for 45 minutes. and wambach scores the tying goal in the 122nd minute. HOLY SHIT!

i don't give a shit what anyone says about soccer---this game was pure awesome. it was a frustrating nail-biter; yet it was one for the ages.

F_CK YEAH! What a great game. I never screamed so much for a "soccer" game. A man down for half the game and we still won? Amazing.

It didn't really say much for soccer as a game though, we almost lost because of bullshit ref calls, and fake injuries. Even among the men I've never seen such obvious fraud as the Brazilian girl in stoppage time who "needed" to be carted off on a stretcher, then ran it off seconds later. If soccer was a better sport, we would have won much more convincingly, without the unnecessary drama.

i agree...soccer does have its flaws; and i think fifa could address them--if it actually got off its ass.

still, all that BS about "soccer's not an exciting sport"? my fawking ass. you can't watch a game like that and call soccer boring.
