i never thought that you can't. I just feel that it's overkill. Dr750s spool plenty fast on a 3.0l. Dr750s aren't the end all turbo. I'd rather have a dr1000-1200 kit on a 3.5l.

Its like driving a 13g's on 3L, just a whole lot more. Probably making lower 400's at 14psi right now. Had to add more fuel at wastegate pressure than 16-17psi on pump before...its moving a lot of air already...:)

Unless of course you mess up the crank and then it's a matter of whether or not you feel comfortable making power on a turned crank. I'm spooked but then again when I bought a stroker I knew I didn't want to run anything less than 700AWHP. It cost $1600 plus the purchase price of the 6G74 crank to get it machined and balanced so it's not like that's as cheap as buying a used forged 6G72 crank to have polished and balanced. I was one of the people that fell for the TD04 choke which is probably why since I got rid of the T3 setup I let the stroker sit in storage because I thought it would keep me from reaching the higher peak 600-650AWHP numbers with TD04s. I may give it a shot in transition to the next custom turbo setup.
ok, so it wasn't just me. i swear i was going to go with the 3.5L + 750 route, but matt m. or someone else convinced me that 16g's might be better. seeing widowmaker's results convinced me. plus, a pair of blown 16g's probably costs less than fixing one 750.
16g's used to cost less than 750's. Back when u could get a pair brand new for like 1100, it was a relative no brainer. But for how easy it is to build a TD04 car, its pretty pointless to go aftermarket manifold unless ur shooting for 700 or better at the wheels.

...or aiming to use pure pump and hit 600whp...
Back when Matt first dyno'd that was the consensus. Fast forward to a few months ago when I was having high crankcase pressure with the krank vents I talked to him on the phone and had mentioned I would have gone with a 3.5L + DR-750 setup if it wasn't going to lose peak power compared to a 3.0L + DR-750 setup. He said his stock side mount intercoolers and stock exhaust wasn't helping at all and that he believes it had quite a bit of power left since he was only at 21 psi. He told me if he built another street car that would be hands down what he would put in it 3.5L + DR-750s.
3.5L + 16Gs Steve only made 525AWHP on a 3.5L + 16Gs with pump gas only which was comparable to Ray's built 3.0L DR Stage III heads, cams, and DR-750s at 525AWHP on pump. However, on Ray's old chameleon car he sold to a guy that put a 3.5L + 16Gs in he made 665AWHP and 748AWTQ. That's definitely impressive. It will be interesting to see how much tq the 3.5L will let the DR-750s make.
I don't know how soon you plan to swap to the flashed ecu Todd but at least if you can hook up evoscan to your overclocked ecu you and Jason can get some VD dyno data before swapping in the flashed ecu if you don't really feel like tinkering with a more complex tune for awhile.
I know where I am going next.
