I JUST ordered an ACT HDSS kit from Maximal.. As I know my current clutch is bad. The site says that a "throwout bearing" is included. Is that the spring that you were referring to?Quote:

No. The springs are in the hub of the clutch. The TOB is what the clutch pedal engages. It slides on the input shaft via the release fork.
A bad TOB can cause issues too, but you would know it if your TOB were bad, because you wouldn't be able to shift, period.
