Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I've seen set ups like that before, but I always think shouldn't the seats interfere with the sub's cone travel?
The picture is a bit deceiving, there is a solid gap between the subs themselves and the back of the front seats, and they aren't hitting that little lip on the back seats either. You can see in the picture right in the middle that little silver piece, that's actually a long L bracket that is holding the sub box pressed against the rear trim panels so it stays put.
I do plan on getting 12'' speaker grilles though, wouldn't want someone to accidentally elbow the subs or lean their seat back all crazy lol
I definitely know what you mean! I was going to go with something like this;
12 inch Mesh Speaker Grill Sub Woofer Protection | eBay
That way they don't stand out too much, and it'll look clean and flush, the black will all blend together hopefully.
Pair 12 inch Heavy Duty High Excursion Subwoofer Speaker Classic Grill Grills | eBay
if you pull the fabric off the rear 6x9's, the metal looks something like these. i found that out because i have custom door speaker grills, and the pattern is a fairly close match to the uncovered rears.

Picked up the car from FSR today and stopped at the nearest gas station and filled up full with e85. The car so far is amazing! Startup is perfect. Turns over with minimal cranking and idle is perfect. Oh and active aero still works!
The drive home was great. Used cruise control for a little and every time you push the accel button the car will take off. It was really tricky to move up in small increments. Each short pull the intake temps would go up to 140-150* and cruising temps were around 105* on the freeway. Idle seemed a bit higher.
Current safe settings on the car:
Setting 4: 425whp/ 485ftlbs
Setting 3: 400whp/ 450ftlbs
Setting 2: 375whp/403ftlbs
Setting 1: 300whp/ 331ftlb
Next up on the list
-Locate blockages in fuel delivery system
-Locate and fix exhaust leak
-Install FMIC
-Install Mitoska's seat covers
-Exhaust?
-Stereo
-Back to FSR for high boost tuning.
Pulled into my driveway, parked behind my Stealth. Sighed... A tear formed as I glanced at it. Then I slowly walked to my house, unlocked the door, glanced at her again, then shut my door. Sighed again... :( LOL
had car flat bedded to assy for repairs. Can't wait to see what I break next.

That would have been handy for getting off the dyno.

From the phone.
New. I didn't want to get stuck in group buy limbo, figured now or never. Have to return the core within 60 days, I forsee a cold transmission drop day in the near future....
I have no clue about the inner workings of the getrag, would everything I need be in the getrag/mitsu manual?
From the phone.
This morning I walked past the building where winter is holding it hostage.

How is buying my wife a SS Camaro do anything to my Stealth? After we pay it off I get to finance my planned upgrades, thats how ;)
Basically what I understood is that you can heat the bearing races up with a heat gun, pop them out, do the solder technique, check the preload, and set it with an assortment of shims. It's all outlined in the getrag manual. That's roughly what I plan to do for my SCE center diff and Quaife front diff shelf queens. Lol.
Got some Winter treads installed. $70 mounted and balanced for 2 slightly used Bridgestone Blizzak's. Tread is nice and soft still too!

Not exactly today but, I put her on a diet..
Honestly DK, she loves it just like it is, I get "the look" when I talk about anything even as minor as adding the black out trim pieces around the tail lights.
My personal add-on I would like to do is add the 4 gauge cluster under the radio, My wife's personal add-on and only if the rims got messed up would be to powder them the same gunmetal color that I did my under the hood stuff on the Stealth
However, my best friends know the people that build and program the Camaros from Berger Chevy (the birthplace of crazy built Camaros), He is going to see what programing can be done to unlock any untapped potential of how that sits right now.
The low-end torque that this car has is crazy!!
fail steve. should have gotten purple racing stripes. :)
Thadd happy wife, happy life. And those that met my wife at NG know that she is pretty laid back.
It was the color combo that sold the car to her, not that it was a Camaro. It could of been a Mustang, Challenger, or Charger, with V6 or V8. The fact that it IS the Camaro plus the SS is just a huge bonus in my book! :peelout:
meh. purple challenger still wins, imho.
fair enough
Cool, I thought when you said financing your planned upgrades that you meant more major stuff, like turbos/motor build. If you're happy where it's at, leave it.
early xmas gifts for my poor vr4

and yeah that's gates. working on a budget here :p
Wait you can spend about 2C notes for clear timing belt covers but will not but an OEM water pump? Sorry going to say this bluntly.
If your budget can not afford a OEM water pump, why did you waste money on a things like the timing belt covers and an "A" pillar gauge pod?
Well I'm not a reasonable person :p
But I've read alot about the the gates pumps and they seem to do fine. Hans on here said the cast impeller i shit though. But taking a chance on it.
It's not like a failed pump will ruin your engine anyways. Temps go up and you just pull aside. Mine just failed and it's no big deal. Glad I had the lcdbc to warn me about the temp going up so high though :)
Have you even taken into thought that the failure could be the pump seizing up?
