  1. Long Overdue Obligatory Post Part 1: The engine

    Whoops, been distracted with a variety of life events and hadn't given a thought to updating this. Since there's a decent amount to cover, figure I'll break this up into a couple different sections.

    When we last left off, I had found damage to the heads and the flywheel was in need of replacing and I still needed to open up the bottom end.

    Super brief list of changes for people who don't want to read.

  2. tt converted es rebuilt engine smoking out of ideas

    Ok so i recently rebuilt my engine due to a bad rod bearing, iv got it back together but when i rev the engine it smokes, it has new mitsu oil pump, sealed power rings, new rod and main bearings, new crank, rods and pistons. set of slightly used reman ported and polished heads. The motor sounds great but if you rev it to about 2000 to 2500 it smokes like a freight train and im out of ideas, it seems to be the rear bank as i found black sludgy oil in the dp, and very little in the intercooler pipes, ...

  4. ECS Coil-over Suspension MOD (part 3 of 3)

    Installing the front Ground Control sleeve kit to the struts.

    The assembly of the rear struts is pretty straight forward with only one word of advice on assembly per the instructions for the rear Ground Control kit: put both "O" rings on first, then the threaded sleeve.

    I was doing one from the bottom and one from the top, problem was that the threaded sleeve kept lifting from the base washer after I put the crimp cap back on the strut:

    Place the front threaded collars on the perch with one of the 1-1/2" x 5" rubber strips between the strut housing and collar; be sure that none of the rubber strip finds it's way underneath the collar.
