Practically nobody will see this, so this is more of a journal than a message to pass along. But if my layperson take on the topic helps--I'm glad.

I got genuinely interested in cologne within the past couple years, and finally bit the bullet and started buying a lot more bottles. It really started with a sample of Davidoff's Cool Water & Champion. I had no idea about what notes were, which notes I preferred, what top notes, heart and base are, what sillage and maceration are, etc. I soon realized that I love marine/aqua and citrus notes. So i started looking for those.

And that's where I ran into the godfather of all clone fragrances: CDN (Club de Nuit) Intense Man (based off recommendations on Youtube). Not only did I immediately love this cologne, but I realized that industrial/mechanical notes were also something I enjoyed. And I surmised I needed to branch out and try new/different things. So I really started looking into clone fragrances.

Here's where my layperson take comes into play. I can't identify specific notes. What I can tell is what the overall impression is and what something smells like in total. So with that in mind:

Afnan Turathi Blue and CDN Iconic. Iconic is supposed to be a clone of Bleu De Chanel. Turathi Blue is supposed to be a clone of Bulgari Tygar. To me, these have similar notes. Both have a hint of soapiness. Iconic has more citrus that I notice than the Turathi. I dislike the soapy notes. I'm assuming that BDC has that same soapy hint as well--so this probably isn't the blue fragrance for me.

Craze Blue. This is supposed to be a clone of Polo Blue. To me, this is one of THE BEST blue fragrances I've ever smelled. Some seem to dislike it as cheap smelling, etc. I get none of that. To me, this is a fantastic scent. Highly recommend.

Armaf Ventana, CDN Urban Man Elixir, Pride of Armaf, Armaf Hunter. These are all Armaf clones of Dior Sauvage. Hunter has a bit of Invictus thrown in--which probably makes it unique in this regard. All remind me of Balsam Fir. If you know what that sweet fir smell is, this isn't far removed. CDN Urban Man Elixir (not to be confused with Urban Man) probably smells the most distinctly like that. These aren't bad at all--which I would expect from Sauvage clones. I'd probably pick Hunter or Urban Man Elixir over the other two.

Portfolio Neroli Canvas. Supposed to be a clone of Tom Ford Neroli Portefino. This is a fresh-style scent. Again, I don't get individual notes. It just smells like theme-park to me. Like the scent I get from wearing sunscreen and being in the hot sun, mixed with chlorinated water and other theme-park staples. It's not bad. Not something I'd recommend as a first pick.

Davidoff Champion. Lemony. Fades in a couple hours. Bright and citrus, but no staying power. Some deride it for smelling cheap. I don't get that cheapness--but it isn't a complex fragrance or long lasting.

CDN Intense Man. This is the best clone of Creed Aventus you can get. And if you get CDN Intense Man Limited Edition, it is probably the best you can get. I can't really tell the difference between the regular and the Limited Edition. I haven't smelled Aventus, but I'm also not going to buy $350 bottles. Pineapple notes in a slightly harsh opening. But the dry-down and base are just godly. You must have this in your collection.

CDN Untold. Bacarrat Rouge 540 clone. BR 540 is a $600 bottle. This is an amazing fragrance for a tenth of the price. Wild grapes and musk are what I get out of it. Amazing, amazing cologne.

Afnan 9PM and Paris Corner Camaro Homme Intense. 9PM is a clone of Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male. Camaro Homme Intense is a clone of Dior Homme Intense. To me these two have very similar profiles. But the Camaro has a bit of a note to it that doesn't quite suit me. 9PM has virtually all of the rest without that 1 note. So I would recommend 9PM over Camaro Homme Intense.

CDN Sillage. This is a clone of Creed Silver Mountain Water. Comes highly recommended by virtually everyone. There's a note in it that just is a bit pungent to me. Powdery scent.

Armaf Tres Nuit. Clone of Creed Green Irish Tweed. Fresh scent. I don't know what "green" is supposed to smell like, but this is it. Not very strong. Probably need to use a spray or 2 extra. Might be a hint of apple and grass. Great scent. I recommend.

More later as I think of it.

Hello everyone,

I bought a half cut Mitsubishi GTO in 2010-11 and decided to do the unthinkable and install that into the Magna.
Took nearly 8 years and required scrapping a 4 Cyl TR Magna (first attempt at the conversion) to make this work!

The start of this conversion began at a time when my dad was going through chemo-therapy and i was hauling his ass back and forth to hospital as his full time carer.
Unfortunately my father did not survive the intense adverse affects of the chemo and he passed away in late 2011.

I dedicated this build to him even though he did not really like it , take interest in it. However i think he would still be proud that I stuck with something this long and committed to it!

So I have my dream VR-4, and it is amazing. It is very clean, only with a few tiny minor problems. Nothing I would call important. I would be the one to end up calling it after an anime character. So I really wanted to end up with a name that started with the letter "S", like Sayuri. Sayuri meaning small, lily. This car is small, and low. I can fit my mountain bike and a passenger with me in the Daytona, in this I will be lucky to find the room for my golf bag.

I have already made up a Fuel Log Book, I started my Scrapbook that will accompany the vehicle at shows and events, and just been personalizing it to my taste. I really do not care for the white gauges, but they sort of grown on me, but I don't think I will keep them. The seats have some tan in them, I HATE tan with a passion. The tan will go, maybe not all at once, but little by little it will be replaced with either blue or black. Blue leather, now that's something nice.

Things that I have done already include installing an open ended steering wheel, new skull pedals, a "3000GT" center rear panel to replace the "GTO" one (makes a great wall decoration) and a very heavy like 5lb shift knob. I want to replace the gauges on the vehicle, now finding what I want has proven to be difficult, finding them with a tach of 10,000 and speed of 180mph is possible, just very places offer that range. I need to get ahold of one black face for a digital AEM fuel pressure gauge, and also am looking for a way to replace the boost and exhaust temp face places with black ones as well. I may have a blue bezel installed if I really think I will enjoy that over the black one currently in it. I have been looking at some glow needles, and probably will go with some UV Purple ones or Blue.

The tan is located on the door inserts, easy fix with 27 dollar covers, but the real issue is the headliner and the seats. The front seats have it on the sides, but the rear seats are completely tan. I will probably usually have the rear seats down anyway so it is not at the top of the list to deal with, and the headliner isn't horrible to look at, or at least it does not bother so far, but it might eventually so I will deal with that when it does start to bother me. I plan to get some blue skull floor mats to place in the vehicle, just for some flare.

I have thought very heavily about replacing the front seats with aftermarket seats, a 4 or 5 point harness and a bar. The brackets will have to be modified to fit the new seats, and the original seats would become a couch once they are removed. The seats in it now are just fine, it's only a matter of how I want Sayuri to look for me.

I really want to have a bit of some blue dash trim kit installed on parts of the vehicle, but it's not a mandatory thing right now. I have also made plans to eventually insert an LED conversion kit for part of the vehicle.

I have not taken many pictures other than the ones that have been taken prior to my start of the small tweaking to the build. More pictures will be included when I get time to place the vehicle in a good photo opportunity spot. The brake light, which may be a result of the switch on the handbrake, and the Antilock light, which might be a wheel speed sensor are the only real things "broken" on the vehicle. I may or may not put brand new brakes Homura, since the ones currently on are just fine. Purple Ice is going in this, as well as other Royal Purple products to keep my engine running as cool as possible. I'll switch to whatever the engine wants though to keep it running perfectly. I've looked at some oil coolers as well. This vehicle came with the owner manual, one of the things I am most excited about even if it isn't in perfect condition, and 11 other guides on installing and proper usage of the technology of the AEM and timer, EVC, and anything else installed on the vehicle before I got my hands on it. Sorry for the glare, it is what it is.

My plans over the winter of 2016 into 2017 are to rewire the active areo button on the vehicle for the rear wing, add in an FPSS for the nitrous, rehook up the nitrous, finish installing the 4 point harnesses and charcoal, midnight black rear seats, and most of all, a tune performed in the springtime.

SO I did this write up a while ago on GTOOC and saw it found its way onto 3sdie, so I may as well add it here for you guys who havent seen it. This is an alternate approach to the expensive DLI's and a far more robust one too. So far mine has been hotwired for 2 years now and run 24psi on stock coils, lead and copper plugs with stock gaps.

The approach to this is the same as with the fuel pump hotwire. Stock wiring to the coil results in a reasonably strong voltage drop between battery voltage and the voltage the coil packs. I was suffering hugely with miss-fires at high boost, Keithmac advised me on how to do this so all props to him.

firstly you need to test the voltage at your coils too see if you in fact need to do this. Test as per below...

Here is how you can test things. Check battery voltage at idle directly on the battery. Then take the + lead of your tester and touch it on the inner most post of the front coil pack as you look at the engine from the front of the car while leaving the negative on the battery. Its the gold'ish looking nut closest to the coil pack bracket. If you are not getting the same voltage as the battery then this will help reduce miss-fires at higher boost levels.

With 14.4V at the battery and only 12.7V at the coils :o . Not that on its own is not too bad, however when logging battery voltage i found on hard WOT runs my battery voltage would drop down to 13.1V which in turn worked out late 11's at the coils around 6000rpm

You will need:

Standard 5 pin relay
5 Pin relay connector
30 amp fuse and Fuse Holder
Butt connectors/Heatshrink/Spade Ring
Wiring-I think I used 10 or 12 gauge

Time Involved: Should take you about 50 mins to an hour...

So here is a coil pack off the car, the wire you need to intercept is the red one. Its located on the connector for the coilpack on the right side of the coilpack on the bottom. The corresponding wire on the harness side changes to black with a white trace, it is easier to cut the black & white on the harness side than the short red bit on the coil pack side. So we will cut the black & white wire...and run Pin 87 from the relay to the COIL side and Pin 86 is the HARNESS side of the coilpack.

So what I did was remove the three 10mm bolts holding fuse box in and separate the base. I ran positive wire from the relay with the 30amp fuse holder to the big yellow 60A fuse on the left. Undo the bolt and fit ring connector underneath.(The red wire with the spade fitting is going to the relay)

Ground you can simply stick underneath the fuse box mounting bolt.

I ran all the wires up through a small hole I drilled in the fuse box base and up through a blank relay space.

But instead of using the spade connectors I recommend using the 5 pin relay connector..makes the install cleaner and simpler

Leaving you with this once the lid is back on.

Wiring in the relay is super easy and goes as follows.

Pin 30 is the 12V +
Pin 85 is GROUND
Pin 87 is to the COIL side of the black & white wire you cut (red wire on coil pack plug)
Pin 86 is the HARNESS side of the Black & white wire you cut (red wire on coil pack plug)

Finally, the fuse holder that you got...wire that in between the relay and the +12V source...I used a 30a fuse.

And that's pretty much it...double check all connections...make sure all your connections are heatshrinked and solid otherwise you will run into problems with no spark...now you should be able to run more boost and not worry about spark blow out...!

Cheers

Hi i already started a thread on 3si but i prefer this site most of the old user of 3si are here with the knowledge and the friendship of the community

Want to share and get feedback on my story of my slipped timing belt.

To make a short story, i decide to take my stealth this morning to go work (do this around 5 time a year) and leave the kid at kindergarten for the morning. After work got pick up my son start the road to get home. It's rural area with a lot of strecht with nobody except deer and corn.I drive through a villlage 50km/h WOT a little to reach 90Km/h.

My son in the backseat scream again again :)...I said wait 2 minute i'll stop and made a real launch.(0-100Km/h in a 90Km/h road) . I slow down put in second gear to slow down. put in neutral at ±20km/h. Suddendly the car die ..

I try to start and hear a strange sound like something spin strange. I tell to my son wait i go check underhood first look all look good. battery , radiator, no smoke.. I check at the timing belt area everything look ok i check belt for PWST i noticed a orange color from the lower timing cover....

$/%?%? it's a pulley and a bolt poping out of the cover

You remember the kid (4 year old) in the story ...i hear Dad go go...i go at the passenger side window and tell him the beast (it'S the name he give for my stealth) need help to finish the road to get home .He told me i need to go at the bathroom ...Ahhh..damn..

Nothing around except the village at around 2Km . I found some scott towel and you imagine the rest.... Next step i told him i dont have the phone mom have it...

He scream NOOOOOO....we will dies here....... Me: Heinn... no no we will walk down the road to call a towing ..some cry and scream.. And go take the wallet... I look far on the road a car Yeah..!!

I go at the rear of the car with my son and show thumbs up , i saw the minivan looking and pass ....and stop... I start walking to reach the car a guys go out and tell me you are lucky.

I know not much people at this hours pass here.... He tell take the kid and the seat for him i will drop you at the village to call towing. Skip a step..wait call insurance het towing ..etc..etc..

After 45 minutes of wait , the smart guy wait with me and return at my car they told me you are lucky the kid are with you without him you would still on the roadside with your sporty car..

!!!!(in my head ASSHOLE!!!) I told him him very lucky... Since waiting the towing my son ask me who is towing i told him the truck that will lift the car and put on is back to take it home.

Wait...wait...remember we are in out of nowhere the towing start at nearly 45 minute... The towing finally arrive talk..etc...put the seat for the kid on the truck jump in seatbelt everything,,,

The guy are really helphful and cool. He ask everyone one ready my son scream yeah Mr towing.... We all strat to laugh...:)

Finally arrive at home drop the car on the garage and leave here for the rest of the summer , no money to fix right now, They sits since ±2 years in the garage waiting love and time, (kids first)

And here start my project to fix by myself , because im able ,skilled enough and motivated :) I found some good member local to get info and help...and some good contact here on 3Si

I start stripping engine bay to have acces to the timing component and took off the %?$& pulley and bolt and see what cause this issue.

Here is the first link for the reason of the timing slipped Timing Belt Failure Fix Slideshow by QCstealth92 | Photobucket

i will try to keep this project updated really often. But working a 3S with two young kids and wife is hard to have enough time ;)

Thanks for reading this story with my bad english lol

It's long overdue that I own a Vehicross. They're the SUV equivalent of the 3/s in the sports car world; highly capable, seldom understood, seriously undervalued. I've read the reviews, the C&D takes, etc--and they all indicate that the Vehicross is a highly capable AWD vehicle, even besting most others in its class (at that time). And like the 3/s, the style is quite appealing--arguably requiring only a few minor tweaks to achieve aesthetic perfection.

I won't be modding it. Aftermarket wheels, some tint / nightshades, and that's about it. I'm excited. This is the best compliment to my 3/s that I could probably put in my garage--aside from another 3/s.

Hello guys i am new here and in the tuning scene. I could use any and all knowledge and assitance from the experienced people on here. I am buying a 94 Mitsubishi GTO vr4. It seems to have been altered since the steering wheel is on the left instead of right. Will that affect me altering the parts in anyway or engine swapping? Im completely new to this and my goal is to get this girl to at least 500- 600HP. I would like to know the most effective way to achieve this without wasting money on unnecessary parts. Keep in mind i dont want this car to blow up on its first race so if i need to upgrade parts to ensure bigger turbos etc can be handled then inform me please. I have about 10-12k to invest into it of course if i can spend less thats better. Parts list would be appreciated. Looking forward to your help guys P.S. Im also open to ideas of complete engine swap to bigger engines for more horsepower if it can fit. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.:smug:
