I normally carry the SP2022 or P220 in a remora #11 IWB. I'm waiting on a Desantis Super Fly pocket holster for the Shield. I might get a remora for it as well.

I use a galco concealment paddle, sometimes right side, sometimes cross draw, and dress for concealment. Being 6'5" and 275 lbs helps hide big pistols.

With my 4" XD with a 16 round mag I carry with Galco's fitted Summer Comfort holster. I typically where a jacket or long sleeve shirt light shirt. It can print a little depending on the position you are in. I've never had an issue with it in the few years I have carried. Very comfortable and fits well.

Holy shit. This is the lady in charge of the Colorado "high capacity" magazine ban. Feel free to listen to the whole thing, but starting at 2:50 is where the real crazy sets in. And yes, she thinks magazines apparently come preloaded with ammunition and once they are fired they can't be used again. Thus, her plan is to fade out all the high capacity magazines because they will eventually be used and no longer any good, as if they aren't reloadable. These are the minds in our legislature.

Is that a printed 80%? If so, I'm curious how well that material holds up. I've got a few CavArms plastic lowers, they hold up well, and even took the abuse of a 50Beowulf upper without any issues.

I'm honestly amazed CNN allowed this to be published, but it's a good read (although I'm sure it's not anything anyone here doesn't already know..for the most part).

Next time there's a mass shooting, don't jump to blame the National Rifle Association and lax gun laws. Look first at the shooter and the mental health services he did or didn't get, and the commitment laws in the state where the shooting took place.

Strengthening gun control won't stop the next mass shooter, but changing our attitudes, the treatment options we offer and the laws for holding the mentally unstable and mentally ill for treatment just might.

Opinion: The real gun problem is mental health, not NRA - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/24/opinion/robbins-mental-health/index.html?hpt=hp_t3)

I guess I hadn't seen that 80% before, looks interesting, with the beveled edges at several spots. All the 80% ones I have been messing with were the Quentin Defense style billets AR-10 and AR-15 lowers.

I don't know that I'd do a printed lower or the standard design poly lowers. But the Cav Arms(now GWACS) poly lowers are really good. An entry style short A1 stock, the pistol grip to trigger reach increased slightly, and a wider magwell for taking other mags are just a few subtle improvements, along with the much lower weight. I'm a fan.

Nice Sig onebadmollafolla!

Since gun safes were mentioned, do you guys have a recommendation or opinion on a gun safe vs gun cabinet? I just bought my first home and with my nephew being there fairly often I want to get some type of lockable storage. Currently I just have a few pistols but am looking to add a shotgun and AR in the near future so I want the space to grow. I'm not looking for anything huge but big enough to store the guns and some other valuables.

I am considering this cabinet but cannot decide if I should spend the extra cash and get and actual safe.

wingnut
09-02-2014, 11:11 PM
^^^ it depends on your intent. The cabinets you link to can be VERY easy to defeat with minimal tools, but that doesn't mean they don't have a use. If someone is home most of the time, and all you really wanna do is keep firearms outa reach then a cabinet is an option. I would advise bolting it into a small closet, giving would be thieves less room to swing tools around to get into it.

However, if you leave your home for extended periods, and plan on adding to the collection then I would steer you to an actual safe. We wanted one not only for firearms, but also for the other things in our home that we would not like to lose in a fire, theft, or just our forgetting where we put important stuffs. Add to that, an exchange student for the school year, and one of the first rules as a host family is no unsecured firearms...so we finally bit the bullet

What an incredible find...makes you wonder what else is still out there! I wonder if this thing was still loaded.

132 Year-old Model 1873 found against a tree at Great Basin National Park
Who hasn't dreamed about finding an old, classic rifle leaning against a tree. Perhaps with a note attached to it telling the story. Well . . .

You have to wonder about the story behind the Model 1873 recently found leaning against a tree in Great Basin National Park. The Model 1873 is the iconic rifle in the great American westward expansion, and is referred to as "The Gun That Won the West." So many people are trying to find the back story of this rifle. Was it just forgotten? Did something happen to it's owner. Did a hunter leave it intending to come back and find it, but never could.

Not exactly perfect, but it feels sturdy and looks good for a first time print. Gonna see how it bolts up to the rail tonight.

Nice! Just picked up a Magpul AFG for my AR. That looks pretty much identical.

I hit it with a bit of paint for the +10 Tactical bonus. It kind of paints like crap, but I like it.

Thanks! Have always wanted one! It's large for a "handgun" but it fits its role quite well. Compared to some of my more normal sized handguns:

Picked up this Savage .22wmr for fox hunting. Comes as a package from the factory "bore sighted" w/ Mossy Oak Brush camo as you can see. Whoever sighted it that must have been drunk and cross-eyed, but got her dialed in on the new lead sled. Nice little gun, ready to go meow!

This counts as armory toys? Filled with soft level IIIA BALCS panels for 360 degree protection, no hard plate currently but might add a III+ or IV trauma plate later, no real need for 7.62 AP NATO protection currently. Only other thing added to the collection so far is a Magpul MS3 sling. Added on is a 3 mag roo pouch, 2 HSGI tacos, blow out kit, and the required Umbrella Corp patch.

Beretta PX4 Subcompact at 7-8 yards. I'm not the best shot, have a couple that missed the mark, but i'm ok with this for the first time out with this gun. 26 rounds.

Shot similar groupings with my Glock 42. That thing is SO comfy and easy to shoot due to it being big for a .380.

PX4s are solid. Haven't shot the subcompact version but enjoyed the full size quite a lot for a DAO which I'm usually not real fond of.

The PX4 has been flawless for me. I almost forget that it's possible for a gun to malfunction when shooting hit. It's impressive. A lot of people find them goofy looking, but I kind of like them. Like a sawed off pistol lol. They aren't DAO though, they are double/single.

The PX4 I shot was the Type D with double action only. Depends on what version it is.

Interesting, didn't know they did that! I'm likely going to convert mine to decocker only (type....G? maybe?) as the safety is awkward. The levers stick out about 8 feet also which is annoying. With a decocker, I can slim them down as they won't be as necessary.

Yes, type g is decocker only, and they make a low profile lever.

Had to have a G3/HK91 rifle. Picked it up about a month ago. Love everything about it. Would HIGHLY recommend getting one from PTR since they use the same tools and dies after purchasing them from Hk.

do you have the one with the serialized trigger assembly to where you can switch basically everything out, with no hastle?

HilbillyHomeboy
11-11-2016, 10:33 AM
Yes. To my knowledge that's the only way the P250 is made. That was the point of it, to be fully modular.

Now to mount it to the rifle.

Titanium brake mount, ultra light and throws awesome sparks for the first few shots, I'll try and get a slow motion video of the first few shots to show the sparks:

"mid" size configuration, capable of everything up to .308/7.62x51, a bit shorter and lighter than the full size 300WM capable config:

Back to being front heavy again, guess I need to file to SBR it now. Always trying to get lighter weight in everything...

Big brother made his appearance. CZ97 - 45 ACP, 10 rds, double-single action. In love all over again. It is FULL SIZE. I have large hands and have to rotate my hand around the grip slightly to hit the slide release. I can reach the hammer easier than a 1911 though, can anyone decock those with one hand? So awkward.

I found a shop in Lynwood, WA that had it in stock. I took the ferry across the water and headed on over. Walked in the door, "Yall got any CZ97's?" "Yessir we have two." The shopkeeper replied. "I have never even laid eyes on one of these and now I get a choice? You just made a sale, friend." They had a black de-cocker version but it was 80 dollars more (15%) and I dont plan on carrying this thing due to its size. My PCR does that for me, it's de-cocker is great for carrying.

I havent shot it yet, maybe the week between Xmas and New years. Recoil is supposed to be 20% less than 1911's. Weight and barrel axis being the major contributors to that.

Put some more modern furniture on the 91. Should be able to shoot it more than 80 rounds without needing skin grafts on my hands now. Time for glass.
