playing in KC is no joke. most players I've seen interviewed say it's one of if not the worst to play for a visiting team.
no way. kc is hospitable to visitors. i'll take "oakland" for the win in that category.

out of the 6 teams in the AFC, the pats have the largest possibility of making it to the super bowl. that's not to say that they have at least 50% of the pie, just the largest slice of the AFC pie.
patriots vs. indy always proves to be exciting, as does patriots vs. jets
i'd like to see the seahawks upset the saints - it'd throw a massive monkey wrench into the playoff picture.

They are not talking about fans, they are talking about PLAYING. KC has a very strong home field advantage. They always have because Arrowhead is so difficult to play in.

that, i can agree with. i would guess that only the RCA dome was more difficult; but that's been gone for a few years now.

I am looking for odds on the Green bay vs Eagles game this weekend. And guess what I find? The odds to win the superbowl for Green bay are the same as Chicago Bears odds to win the super bowl. Even though Green bay will have to win all games on the road to do it. I find that fact interesting. Not what I am really looking for though just a side note. Anyway after more searching I find more game gurus picking Green Bay than are picking the Eagles. I can see this game going either way. I am pulling for Green Bay.
Go pack go! One game at a time is how it is done. Lets win this one. Green Bay does have a habit of letting the refs take control of the game away from them. They lost 4 regular season games that way. They would be 14-2 if they did not penalize themselves so much. Game day I will be watching.

I have to give props to the Bradys, Rapelesburgers, Vicks, because they elevate the game, and are deserving of where they get in the playoffs, if their team can support them, it obviously isn't easy. Likewise I am a McNabb hater for the same reasoning. The people that work hard/leverage their talent are exemplars and deserve the respect/admiration they get.

Now a Packers vs Bears game for the NFC champ game. How cool is that! One game at a time though ATL will be tough. I believe they will beat the Pack. The Pack will need help from the refs to win it.
A side note Vic got his full game chance to beat the Packers. I will say he almost did it too. Had that last pass been thrown different? But it is over and he did make the toss that lost the game for the Eagles. Kinda hard to take that back.
About the Bears Seahawks game. Many Bears fans are believing the game will be a push over. That was how the Saints felt as well. Is that a sign? I hope not. As a Packer fan I can not imagine a better game than a Bears Packers game for the NFC title match. I just can not see the Seahawks getting past the Bears. but then I did not think they would beat the Saints either. I forgot to add the weather will be a factor against the Seahawks. They do not have much if any playing time in Zero degree weather. The football is rock hard. The passing game will be much different for the QB and the reciever when it is that cold for Seattle. It will throw off the timming of the routes and ball handling. I bet the Bears are plus 3 in take aways in this game. The Bears have a decided edge in playing in the cold.
I will say the Packers have a whole new level of play ahead of them. They can rally with fire in their eyes like Seattle did against the Saints. It will take that kind of effort to win the Super Bowl. Not saying they will do it. And they have a tough road ahead. But it is doable as long as they do not choke.
no way. atl- seattle would be a much better championship game. and seattle - jets > seattle - pats.

Even though, last years game between the Packers and Cardinals (always been a Warner fan) was one of the best ones I have ever seen. I think Flynn was a bit of a fluke. The Patriots were on a winning streak and were not as fired up. It won't be the same next time.

Well normally I would agree with you. But we have a lot of intangibles with Green Bay. A lot of injuries and they are playing new players so the team is not the same one that has played over the regular season. That is why they seem to come from no where. The team they are playing now is quite strong. And it is still finding its legs and strengths going into the playoffs. That makes them hard to adjust to. Like the Falcons will have to adjust to a running game which the last time they met only 6 weeks back the Pack did not have. So for most people that only use stats to make up their mind about how a team will play they will be surprised. As Green Bay polishes their game they will only grow stronger and build confidence in their own ability. This is not the same team that played in the regular season. It is better. Even the Bears have not seen this new Packer team with a running game. It is too early to say they are better than the Pats. But if they get that far they will have more confidence in their new abilities. They will give New England or whoever goes up agaisnt them a tough game. It sounds so cinderella even to me. But it fits for now. Of course more injuries can still happen to change the picture for any of the remaining teams. But I am excited to watch them play and I am beginning to expect them to win which is a new feeling for me.
Go Pack Go!

I have had to reassess EVERYTHING since I was totally 0 for 4 last weekend.
Steelers<Ravens: This will be a dog fight, they split their record during regular season. These teams are well matched for each other, great defenses, I think Ravens made some good acquisitions in WR this season, will make the difference and Ravens are due. If they aren't too beat up, the winner may go all the way.
Packers>Falcons: Falcons, have never been overly impressive, they lost to Saints in last game with their infamous goal line fumble. Falcons are good, but not at the next level yet. They won't be able to survive against the Pack playing like that. Clay Mathews will have at least 3 sacks.
Seahawks>Bears: Jay will get 3 interceptions to add to his record of notoriety. Seahawks will come in and be more consistent than they were last week. This will be a close game.
Patriots>Jets: It won't be a route but Patriots will prevail. The problem with the Pats is defense, they aren't that good against run. They can certainly sustain a shootout. This will be a problem in the divisional championship.
I think everyone's "man cave" is ready :drunk: 4-0 this weekend FTW!

you're from new england corey, what are the chances you heard wes welker's press conference this week? it was nothing short of magical, he made 6-7 foot references in it. you know that somewhere he's collecting a few hundred bills from his teammates on that one. the best two were "....put our best feet forward" and "....good little foot soldiers."
for those of you who might not get the references: Michelle Ryan Foot Fetish Video? Rex Ryan's Wife's Maybe Movie Surfaces (VIDEO) (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/22/michelle-ryan-foot-fetish-video_n_800138.html)

Funny reading you saying that Rodgers is overrated. Because the Falcons are favored to win it already by 2. So how is it he is overrated if he is suposed to lose?
If the Packers win, it will be from an underdog position. But the way the press is talking I can see why you might think the Packers are favored.

Proof of Rodger's overratedness (is that even a word? lol) was on the TD pass. The announcer, pretty sure it was Joe Buck, called it "an impressive throw" He threw the ball 4 yards to a wide open receiver. What was impressive about it? Well that went better than I expected. The defense was key in my book. Rodgers is good enough. But it takes a defense that can kill a drive with a take away to win playoff games. And Green Bay did that twice now first against the Eagles and now agaisnt the Falcons. If Green Bays Defense can keep that level of play thay can win it all.
I also like the fact that the Falcons did not stop Green Bay at all. Green Bay never punted in that game.

I think people should have to have their general IQ and their football IQ tested before they are allowed to post on ESPN, or any other football boards. Raven's fans are blaming the refs for the loss. I think the refs did an EXCELLENT job considering how rough the players were getting at times.
The fans were crying that Brown didn't have control of the ball. I guess they forgot about David Tyree's catch in Super Bowl 42. If the ball is pinned against your body its not moving. If its not moving its being controlled and its a catch. The refs didn't make Rice fumble. The refs didn't make Flacco throw a pick. The refs didn't make Flacco mishandle a snap. The refs didn't make Boldin or T.J. drop catchable passes.

Yes one play can change the momentum of the game and most often does. They commented about that last night when the Falcons went up by 2 scores with the kickoff return for a touch down. A play like that does change the game. Except GB defense went on to take the ball away in the end zone and give the momentum back to GB. Left the Falcons score less after a long drive. A great team can overcome that one game changer play. If they can not, they lose and well simply did not earn the right to continue on. It is the difference of a team making it to that next playoff level.
I hope the Bears win today. Go Bears
Now I see what I suspected the Seahawks are having a hard time with footing and catching the football in the cold.
Edge Bears. Important plays in this game will be lost for the Seahawks because of the weather. Bears are more used to these conditions, while they may have an impact on the Bears as well I suspect they will adapt to it better than the Seahawks can.
Another big missed opportunity for the Seahawks. A dropped interception at the goal line. Ball control problems in the cold.
That is 7 points the Bears should not have. More dropped balls on critical 3rd downs. The Seahawks underestimated the weather impact on the game. None of the deep throws are working for Seattle. Dropped balls everywhere. Very different game from last week when all those deep throws where being caught for big plays. I will say it again the weather is the difference, Seattle just can not get it done in this weather.
If that pick had worked in the first half it would be 28-24 right now. Onsides kick and Seattle would be in the game. That dropped interception was huge.

He is just yanking your chain. He knows Green Bay played against the 1st seed in the NFC with many 3rd string players standing in and still blew them out. When people say the NFC is weak they are generally right. But Green Bay stood out from the crowd that is why so many were picking them preseason. It was all the injuries that set them back.
But right now the Jets offense looks very weak much weaker than Green Bays. And Green Bays defense can play as well if not better than the Jets. Green Bay will pick Brady at least once if not multiple times. The steelers looked tough. I will give the AFC that.

They wont beat Pittsburgh a second time. They are gonna have to rely on Sanchez and with the pressure dialed up, Sanchez will choke it away.

Pats, Jets, Steelers and Ravens are the top 4. Remember the Colts were 6-6 and were on the outside looking in. Had the Jags not collapsed the Colts wouldn't even have made it. If that makes them one of the best teams then I guess Cincinatti should qualify as one of the best too.

You are so wrong. The old Packers under Favre would choke for sure. Rodgers is playing against the ghost of Favre. He is out to prove he is better than Favre.
That makes him very dangerous. No team is good enough to get in his way now. He has something to prove to the GB fans and that is a harder road than winning all the playoff games and the super bowl on the road! He is going to put up stats that will stand for a long long time on these playoff games.
After watching the Jets and the Steelers I will say the Jets will give at least 3 quarters of great play. But in the end I think the Steelers will find a way to win it. Even if they have to do something crazy to make it happen. The Jets defense will shut down the Steelers though. Special teams will probably win it. Or a defensive take away.
Whoever goes up agaisnt GB in the super bowl is going to get the toughest game they have ever played.

4 interesting games this weekend; but its weaving a pretty good story. The biggest surprise was the Bears. But they still don't look that good.
Steelers won fair and square.
Did they deserve/earn it? Arguable, Ravens lost this one.
Seahawks looked like they were on skates! Cutler was doing his nails in the pocket. The Seahawks line needed to buy a clue! If you gave Stealthee that much time he would have been throwing strikes from back there.
did stealthee just suck his own dick?
i suppose bellichek is going to fart fairy dust and the pats win this one. fuck them.

http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lcoqu05NZC1qbbpaoo1_400.gif LOL agree with the Hulk video.
There maybe some people pulling chains but after watching all the games this weekend, the common thread is defense. Patriots defense has been suspect all year, it wasn't too surprising to see them fold...I figured it would be in the championship, they are very much a momentum dependent team, and need to shore up their linebackers. Steelers game was going to be a tight one, either could win, both good defenses.
The best all around team was the Packers this weekend, on all sides of the ball. They seem very well prepared, consistent and poised; McCarthy has done a great job. They also know how to play @ Soldier Field in the cold & will be prepared next weekend. Bears looked good, but they are like the Falcons, dare I say - overrated.
It will be close but my call is Steelers will beat the trippers. They have the better team overall, great defense, home field, and Ben is notorious for figuring out a way. They need to reign in that lineman that dives into the pile when the play is done.

So are the Jets D backs trying to pussify things even more with their bitching and whining about Hines Ward?
How is it that if I D back makes a huge blindside block on an interception return its awesome, epic, huge, essential, etc, but if a wide receiver makes a blindside block on a reception its dirty?
If Ward's play is dirty then fuck it, give me a dirty player just like him every single year. I guess we should take hitting out of the game. Give the Jets Dbacks some pom poms and put their asses on the sidelines with the other girls.

How the hell do you figure that?
Pittsburgh has a better defense, a better running game, more experience, and the list goes on.
The Pack only has the edge in a passing game, and if you get Rodgers dancing around, he crumbles.

If Harrison can get Rodgers on the ground HARD just once hes not the same QB. The Pitt. pass rush will determine the game. If they hit Rodgers, Steelers will likely win, if he has time to run around and pick apart a iffy secondary, Steelers will lose.
Im going with my first feeling of this game, Steelers last minute TD for the win but will be a close game with turnovers ultimately deciding the outcome.

2 of the 3 starters have been gone almost all season so that is a moot point. Green Bay has lost more than Pittsburgh. Legursky has been practicing with the starters all week so the jitters he had last week are gone. Advantage Pittsburgh.
Last years game was won by Pittsburgh so how is that a win for Green Bay. Pittsburgh won that game despite having a subpar season. There's also an x factor. Troy Polamalu. He wasn't in that game. He's playing in this one. Not only that but the entire Pittsburgh defense is playing better than they did last year. Advantage Pittsburgh.
So where does Green Bay have the edge again?
steelers will win. why? because i don't want them to win. and every time i don't want someone to win, they do.
