XP Pro/ Adobe reader weirdness

Anyone have an explanation why when I view a PDF, it changes the fonts on everything on the desktop? It changes e-mail, web pages, anything that is open at the time. They will stay that way until the PDF is closed, then you can refresh the affected page(s) and it will go back to normal.

Not really a big deal, but I find it a bit annoying.

Yeah not heard that one before...is it via e-mail attahment only or anytime?

Any PDF.... Doesn't matter if it's stored on my machine or downloaded.

The kicker here...? I can't believe it's uncommon. I have three machines that do it, two XP pro, and one XP home. All with varying stages of updates. My primary machine has the latest version of Adobe reader, and windows fully updated. Two at the shop are a little behind.

Try the Adobe help threads. Maybe there is something there?

The only issues I have had with Acrobat is crashing IE when opening... It has stalled Firefox, but not crashed.

what version of adobe reader?
is this integrated into a web browser or stand alone adobe reader?

do you have/can you provide any screen shots?
