How can i find out info on an import?

I'm still intrigued everyday with my Diamante as to who owned this, and when was it imported? Is there any way in Victoria at least I can track down through say Vicroads or someone else who imported the car? I have no import papers...and the car has 256K on the clock, and before I owned it, spent late 08 and all 09 just sitting under a tree AFAIK.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great as I'd love to get some information on this car.

Ah also something else interesting, no import compliance plate! yeah.....makes me wonder if this was imported back in the early 90s!

If it was brought in as a private import [ie lived in Japan and brought it home] it may not require the import plate. Unless you can get access to the vicroads data base I doubt there is any way.
