The Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey is a weekend long event where the 11 land based lighthouses of NJ are opened to the public for visitation and climbing. In addition to the 11 lighthouses there are one museum, and two life saving stations to visit as part of the challenge. A souvenir passport will be available for purchase to document your progress. As you visit each location, your passport will be stamped as proof of each visit. This will be your souvenir to commemorate your participation in the event.

For additional information about the Lighthouse Challenge, please visit the Official Lighthouse Challenge of NJ website, the NJ Lighthouse Society website, and the Lighthouse Challenge of NJ Facebook page.

This marks the seventh year 3SNJ will be participating in this event. We have completed our six previous attempts and are confident that we will do so again this year. This is a rain or shine event and we have completed this event in the worst of weathers and still manage to have a good time. Every year, the views from the top of the lighthouses were spectacular regardless of the conditions. This is a great opportunity to visit some awesome places and learn a little about these monuments that have aided sailing vessels for a century or more.

This is 3SNJ's longest official in-state cruise event, totaling just over 300 miles along most of New Jersey's shoreline. There are great photo opportunities available during our travels, you will not be disappointed with the vantage points these lighthouse can provide. It does not matter what car you drive in this event. We do not discriminate and this is not a race. The cruise is very casual with many stops, so it does not even feel like you are doing the distance. This is a PUBLIC event so you can invite anyone that has a desire to cruise with us. Wear comfortable shoes, as we will be climbing as many lighthouses as time permits. Of course, this is optional but adds to the overall experience of our journey.

There will be an overnight stay after the Absecon Lighthouse night climb in Atlantic City.
There will be no official hotel for this event. Lodging arrangements will be the responsibility of the participant. Lunch stops can be expected after East Point Lighthouse and Barnegat Lighthouse, for day one and two, respectively.
The meeting point for day one will be at the Wawa's in Paulsboro. The Sandy Hook Lighthouse in Highlands will be our end point for this event. From there all participants can depart for home.
