C'mon, tires do not make a brake pedal spongy.

    They are totally unrelated.

So you think two identical cars, one with winter tires and the other with summer performance tires are going to handle, and yes, brake the same? Who's drunk?

Braking performance would only differ after the less grippy tire entered abs activation otherwise it would be the same PEDAL feel. There is too much going on between the pedal and tread blocks to make a difference.
    Imo anyways.

Steve, I have a very hard compound tire on the Stealth (and the Spyder for that matter).

    Continental DWS on the Stealth.

    BFG KDW2's on the Spyder.

Don't think there is ANYTHING special about the pads, shims or backing plates on my Spyder (I had a 94VR4 before it, and the brake systems are identical).

Hrmm, think it might be wise to ask someone like duke3k that owns a coupe and spider TT also. I think you get the best criticism from someone who's driven both routinely.

spider in 3s coupe brake systems are not identical. they have a different front to rear and lateral brake bias due to differentiating centers of gravity, roll center, and moment arm pivots. I would think the proportional valve distribution just might be enough to change the pedal feel as you modulate front to rear brake bias.

As mentioned earlier upgraded brake lines improve pedal feel as do selecting a good pad and backing plates. I've never owned a spider so the only information I can share is what's been passed down to me from one of the very few so fortunate to have attended Mitsubishi's specialized spider training, Gary Melcher. We've discussed many things regarding Heinrich's spider verses my race car.

    You are buddy.

We are talking about PEDAL FEEL. So you can feel the pedal being mushy applying the brakes sitting idling.
You tell me if you can feel difference in tires not moving the car.

PEDAL FEEL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TIRES.
