Just to get it started:

I work in the Oil and Gas drilling industry. Im called a Drilling Fluids Engineer, but im not an engineer by any means.
They use a fluid, called mud, while deep and im responsible for that fluid: which means weight and chemical properties of that fluid are to be maintained and adjusted according to the depth we are on and the depth we want to reach.
Its basically all down to cost and planning.

What does everybody else do for a living around here?

My job title according to the books is a Production Scheduler, but I am so much more. I oversee production for a company that produces drop in bedliners for the international market. We sell to OEM manufacturers all over the world.

I order the raw material, unload raw material, load reground material for backhaul to the vendor, set the production schedule, make sure maintenance is informed of any changes that need made and know what molds are to be prepared for production, coordinate with the sales rep on orders, maintain spreadsheets to keep track of orders, schedule containers with forwarders to make vessels sailing schedules, prepare the shipments for loading, load the shipments on the containers, coordinate with a subcontractor for production of parts packs, etc, etc, etc.

And some of you wonder why I bitch about my job. LOL

I'm in the Army I was a Military Police officer for 8 years then changed my job over to Generator Mechanic and I just finished a 3 week long NATO deployment to Poland and slept in the dirt and rain
