Yeah, true. Would still be nice to have a bottom end ready to drop in at any given time lol. Probably a ~$350 project to have a rebuilt spare bottom end.

Doubt it's coolant, it wasn't burning any AFAIK. All of the cylinders had the same amount of carbon buildup.

I've been beating the hell out of it after driving ~100 miles taking it easy to ease into the bearings. Seems to be taking the abuse, still nervous any time I hear a weird noise or rattle. Of course the car vibrates and rattles right at the same RPMs the rod knock was most noticeable before.![]()
