    New 13G record!! AWD ATX

Here is the thread on the other forum incase you want to see a bunch of pics of car and atx awd drive train. New 13G record!! AWD ATX - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center

But I will put most on here too so you dont have to if you dont want to.

OK, so norwalk was so busy. I was there from noon til 10pm and made 3 runs! 700+ people.

    60 FT = 1.591
    1/8 = 7.373@93.01
    1/4 = 11.617@115.01

It was 90 degrees F all day today at norwalk. And I have stock SMICs (they are even spray painted red which hurts heat transfer no doubt lol) and am pushing these little turbos so I know it just heat soaking and blowing hot air but it still did well.

I launched at 16psi. That is all I could hold with the brakes. I shifted 1st a little early at 6k but these turbos are out of steam anyway so I dont think it hurt the time much.

The auto is working so great. The launch is so nice and smooth and the rest of the way feels like driving a 16 sec car.

    Details:

I ran these runs with c16 and the turbos were holding 19-20 psi no matter how high I turned them up. 1st gear to 2nd I shifted at 6187, 2nd to 3rd at 6781 and 3rd to 4th at 7093. I stayed in 4th for only a sec or so. I just was about to hit rev limiter and had to shift. Plus I am not making that much power anyway.

IDC was at 98.4%. Timing up top was 34 degrees on the mmcd logger. 0 knock on the entire run. AFR was 11.2-11.5.

The car is a 91 vr4 with a 2g body conversion. It is full weight besides no front or rear crash bars, 2 corbeau forza race seats, no rear seats, nothing in trunk, no exhaust and I ran it without a hood. Still has A/C, AWS, ABS ect ect.

    Notable Mods:
    DSM blue top 450s
    Apexi SAFC 1
    Supra pump hotwired
    td04 13g turbos
Exhaust dumps out of o2 housings
    rear precat is gutted.
    AEM wideband
Toggle shifters and full line pressure
    Welded center diff
    Stock AWD auto tranny
    Trans cooler
    Aluminum underdrive pulley
    Metal y pipe
    Hallman MBC

I have a bone stock longblock, stock smic, stock mas, stock wheels, all season tires, stock intercooler pipes, stock auto tranny.

Anyway, my girl is super happy. It is her car and daily driver. And it is faster than most street cars.

But I am in process of uploading videos and pics.

The car took off great, no tire spin at all. If I had to guess weight I would say between 3600-3700 with me in it at the very very least

    92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Auto = 10.61@127.8 (1.4 60ft)
    94 3000gt SL 8:1TT 5spd getrag = 11.87@123 (1.8 60ft)
    91 3000gt VR4 13gs = 11.61@115 (1.59 60ft)

kudos! always like to see awd atx representing.

i see you clipped the fins out of the sides on the front bumper. it also looks like you are running your trans w/o that cover-plate thingy?

    p.s.

i've never had a problem with "waiting" for my car to downshift from a roll. just gotta make sure it's set to "PWR". mash the gas & it will kick from 4th to 2nd in a heartbeat.

Yes the bumper is from my old SL TT. I had to remove the fins to fit the FMIC piping I custom made. Look in signature at fwd car with slicks.
Yes, I am running it without the plate that goes in between engine and trans. It is not needed [in order to run]. It is there to space it properly for the starter but it works fine without it [but donnie says it could cause problems in future]. The car never had it on and I couldnt find one to fit the awd atx. So i didnt really care at the time. Nelson has his motor plate but I dont want to spend 650 right now.

Well yes it will downshift but I already like to be in the gear. SO there isnt even the smallest wait time and you can brrake boost ect. And with switches i have full line pressure.

Running without the spacer plate may lead to premature pump failure in the trans.

Good to know. I will have to source one then. Do you have more details behind that? What are symptoms? Noises? The plate seems rather thin to make such a huge effect. But if engineered to be that exact, then I will have to get it. Thanks for heads up.

Goddamn that Cobalt was slow as shit. I thought my 3 second wait when bracket racing was rough. You had to sit there for almost 6 seconds.
