    My boss died yesterday

He was a good man and a great supervisor.

You never know when it’s your last day here. He had been complaining of a headache all day but other than that he seemed fine. He was supposed to come by my house that evening with his son and look at my RX7 I’m thinking of selling. Anyway some of the other guys said he had to sit down in the guard shack on the way out of work. They asked if he was OK and if he needed anything but he said he would be fine when he got into the car and got the AC going.

I never heard from him that night and just thought he didn’t have my cell number in his phone or something. I went to work the next day and he was gone. He had went strait home the day before and went to bed. His wife woke him that evening to see how he was doing and he said he felt better but still had the headache. The next morning when his alarm went off his wife tried to wake him but he was gone.

It really makes you think. He seemed healthy, he was only 39 years old.

Am I living life well/ getting the most out of it?

Paul, that's a tough go - my sympathies.

My 'boss' - the plant manager here - is immensely talented, both as an engineer and a manager of people.

He's also a very good friend.

I would hate like hell to lose him.

As someone who just turned 36 a few weeks ago, that's mildly terrifying. No one is guaranteed another tomorrow. I try to remind myself of that often.

    Sorry to hear that Paul.
I'm real close with my boss and when something like that happens so sudden it can be difficult to accept.
Sam had a brain aneurysm shortly after I came to work with the company. We are very lucky to still have him here with us but he suffers with after effects of the damage it did.
He's the main reason I stay at my job. I'm worried it would be a lot more stress for him if I left.
I'm sure he will be missed dearly.

We think it was an Aneurysm but that's pretty much a guess.

I guess if you are going to go that's the best way to go. It was just so sudden and such a shame being that young.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It's been pretty gloomy around here.

August has sucked @ my work also. We had 2 deaths here... First AND second Thursday! An inspector and group secretary. They were both older and getting feeble. We aren't clear on what...Tommy had sleep apnea and a myriad of medical issues, some time during the night . Marcia was cleared by the doctor, just the day before, then found outside of her townhouse. Iirc she had diabetes issues & weight.

We been on edge Thursdays lately.

Sorry 2 hear about young boss. Definitely live it up while we can!
