I don't find a Volvo wagon particularly attractive either, so if that made the cut, a Mustang or DSM shouldn't be ruled out either, they are both better choices.

IN the comments it came out that the DSM was left out as the 3S is faster stock. MY guess is the same can be said for stock Fox body mustangs.

Doesn't seem to be any real order to that list. If by straight line speed, then the VR4 should be at #1 or #2. If by track speed, should be somewhere in top 5. Just seems to be a random list of sports cars you can get for under $10k.

If I was thinking most speed for under $10k, DSM or foxbody would be my first choice.

doesn't explain the lack of MK VIII or XK8.

I agree with the statements about the fox body and dsm's being pretty worn. Finding one stock and not beat to within 1 inch of a junkyard asset is tough to come by.

so you're saying that rolling chassis with a few extra parts thrown in are quite plentiful?

Around here yes. Fox bodies and DSM's are a dime a dozen from a project standpoint.

A RARE Fox body or DSM is one that is driving on public roads now...
