Supertech 6.6mm VSS or 6.0mm VSS

There are several different sizes for the Valve stem seals. I do not have double valve springs. Using OEM valve springs. will the 6.6mm promote better sealing? Will it install like flush or is any other work needed for it? Anybody know?

Pretty sure one is for the intake and one is for the exhaust.

They will only sell you one size but if you get them from cherry hill (stock) there are 2 different types. Most of the aftermarket ones like felpro just sell one size because the size of the valve stems are not that much different but they are different. Call up cherry hill and ask for the part number for the exhaust then ask for intake. I replaced mine a year ago and the stock ones from mitsu are what I used.

Edit: oh and I think the stock intake and exhaust are made out of different materials. Not positive though.

Lots of people have used felpro with no complaints but I just wanted to make sure I used something different than generic ones. My VSS started lifting off the seats a few 100 miles after my build but I think it's because the machine shop didn't seat them well.

OP, also I think there are 3 or 4 different types. I believe the other ones are for SOHC.

md306079 seal, valve stem in (gray)
md307343 seal, valve stem ex (green)

For the work involved in replacing them I would only fit genuine Mitsubishi ones as well..

Lists two as only the exhaust side are the viton seals. Intake side are not viton.

Most people now a days just get a complete set of the viton "green" ones and use them on both intake/exhaust.

As long as the ones you get are viton seals then your good.
