    Evo 560cc injector idle issue

Has anyone found a fix for the idle issue seen with running the 560s. I've noticed my wideband will go to the 13s at some times and will go to 18 at other times. When the car is running it runs fine, only at idle will it jump around so much. I have not noticed anything with the car as far as stalling or or running like shit, it will idle nicely. And by fix I don't mean changing to 450s, 550s, or anything else lol. Thanks.

We have the same problem. It comes from the injector latency being different on those then the stock injectors. Basic piggyback tuning methods will net the same result you are showing. The only real way to get the idle steady is to be able to change the latency of the injector or reprogram the ecu. So, basically change the injectors or your engine management.

Thanks for the info Hans, maybe I should ditch the safc2 and get something better. Any recommendations?

Only real engine management that is going to control injector latency is a stand alone (or a tuneable stock ecu if they ever come out with one). I'd just switch injectors to be honest. But, most upgraded injectors are going to do that to the idle.

I had the same problem even with an EMU. I changed the injectors.

Im running those same injectors for now, with the AEM EMS, it will idle great with any injector, and it will also work great with any upgrades you have, or you plan to do in the future, to help you get the most out of them. It does come at a price though.

I've seen a few threads on this, and it really has me wondering. I picked up a set of 560s 2 years back at a great price, planning on using them once I got everything together. Now that I'll be putting everything in the car soon, I'm starting to question them. As of now I was just going to be using an SAFC...so is anyone actually sticking with these using piggybacks or is everyone slowing abandoning them for 550s/660s?

I'm looking for a FMIC kit, if you are selling one, PM me.

With brand new o2's and a few years of tinkering with it on emanage blue, mine will idle at 14.7 most of the time. Easiest way to fix it is to bump the idle up to 1000-1200 rpms and re-tune

Problem with airflow only correction is the ECU will ignore values that are too low and go into fault mode at idle (drop out of closed loop occasionally) If you have bigger injectors with short deadtime you`re doubley out of look.

The stock ECU fuel trim at idle is great on the 360`s but sucks on the bigger injectors, the Evo`s being one of the worste. Best bet is to pull the stock o2`s (if you can without a CEL) and do fuel correction at injector level but the EMU is the only piggyback that can do this.

All other fuel controllers lean on the Mitsu o2 correction to get to stoich at idle so that`s why the AFR falls into the high 12`s low 13`s before close loop kicks in and leans it back to 14.7:1.

With my PTE 780`s I tuned to get 14.7:1 at idle (at injector level) and then plugged the o2`s back in to see what happened and it was a mess!, big swings around stoich.

To be fair if the AVERAGE afr is 14.7:1 and it can hit 13:1 to 18:1 without bogging or leanout at idle then as far as fuel economy goes you`re not too badly off.
