    Galant VR4 474/1000

Hey guys, I really have not been on the forums much since I left 3SX in 2008. After having our first kid we decided to move back to Florida to be close to both sets of grandparents. We bought a foreclosure that was in really bad shape. So for the past four years I've been spending all of my time on home repairs. We were also blessed with another little one in 2009. Anyways, I always had a really hard time of leaving the car scene cold turkey like that. Last year Jenny got tired of me missing the Stealth all the time so she surprised me with the best possible replacement for us at this time. Something fun, affordable ($13,000 daycare/year is rough), 4-door, and of course turbo AWD. A new EVO or even a Subbie is not in the budget. One day it dawned on me that I should get a GalantVR4. I always wanted a white/white Stealth so I decided the Galant would have to be white/white.

So Jenny found a really nice 1992 Galant. Completely bone stock, original owner, California car. White/white with sunroof. This thing is perfect (for an old Galant). Picked it up for $2700 and had it shipped to Florida.

It's been a lot of fun. It's pretty slow. Had it to the track a couple times. 14.5@93.2 . The great thing is that the kids think it's fast! I'm going to keep it pretty stock until the kids go to free school. Then I'll do a few things and get it down to a mid 12. That's fast enough for me now. I'm getting old.

Right now I'm in the process of freshening things up. I yanked the motor to clean everything and do the 60k, oil pump, bearings, balance shaft delete. There may be a few pics attached below. I'm not sure if I uploaded them correctly. Thanks for looking.

Awesome, glad you are back in the game. The Gvr4 looks clean, which it extremely rare from my experience. Hang around here with us, it's cool to see you post again.

p.s. my fiance's youngest daughter (6) loves it when my car builds boost.

Thanks guys, it's pretty clean for a Galant. Cool thing is it smells just like a 3S inside . Sad story with my old blue stealth. The nice gentleman who bought it from me had a brain tumor and died within about 6 months from purchase. I spoke to his wife and son a few times. As far as I know it is still sitting in a garage in Spartanburg SC next to his other pristine 15k mile white stealth TT. Very sad, he was a super nice guy who enjoyed life and was like a kid in a candy shop regarding the Stealths.

Since you didn't make it to BRG we might forgive you if you were working on this at the time.
