TD04 Turo upgrade options

Hi All,

I might be jumping the gun here as I don't yet have the funds but i'm doing my research LOL.

Looking at 19Ts [or variants of them] at this stage. I'm a little confused about all the names and what they are actually made up of. 19T is pretty easy. There are 3 wheel options L, HL & stock 9b wheel. But the DR60/750 and the random 3sx kits is where it gets confusing.
What does all the names mean? what are they like? I hope to make a healthy 500hp but still be able to drive it daily if possible LOL. Also something with a quick spool.
So please fill in these.

3SX 19Ts

Any feedback on each one? are the 750s worth the extra money etc etc.

DR650 - No one is really exactly 100% sure what turbine or compressor wheel they use.

DR750 - No one is really exactly 100% sure what turbine or compressor wheel they use.

3SXecutioners - I am pretty sure these use to have a custom compressor/turbine wheel, however I am almost positive these are just plane jane 15gs now (15g compressor, td04L turbine)

3SXeliminators - I am pretty sure these use to have a custom compressor/turbine wheel, however I am almost positive these are just plane jane 13gs now (13g compressor, td04L turbine)

DR/STM/3SX 19Ts - All use the 19T compressor. I know DR and 3SX have an option to use the bigger HL turbine wheel instead of the L turbine wheel, and I believe the option to use the wrx compressor housing. The L wheel will spool faster, the HL wheel will spool a tiny bit slower but have more top end & power throughout the RPM band.

If you want something with quick spool and 500hp, go with the 19Ts with the L turbine wheel and the stock TD04 housings.

I believe to upgrade once and be done, so DR750 is a good bet. Also, the DR750's will get you to your goal easiest and without pushing the turbos or running on the edge of your setup and without having a ton of other supporting mods like heads ect.


If you have the money DR750's if not 19T's are second best i according to results.

Which is better for normal street use? I still need to be able to drive it daily. I'm considering looking into an engine management system that can handle 2 tunes. Street and performance. Failing that it will have to be an electronic boost controller.

You don't always need two tunes & EBC, just don't mash the gas while daily driving and you won't be waisting fuel. My MAFT Pro is setup to read the wideband & has a whole page of settings to be able to go into an extra lean cruise. I'm at about 16.5:1 AFR at cruise and get pretty good mileage. May not be the best option out there, but it works pretty well when setup right. Unless of course you are going to be switching between different fuels.

If you want the best of the best in TD-04's the DR750's are the way to go. Billet compressor wheel DESIGNED to be used in this housing/application , the highest flowing, super light titanium aluminide turbine wheel. You get what you pay for if you want the best in TD-04's the DR-750's are it.

thy spool about like 13G's or dr-500 do. The lightness of the turbine wheel and compressor wheel despite being so large makes that possible. These turbos you truly do get the best of both world, lightning fast spool and BIG power up top.
