My deadline is to have this current build completed before the Texas gathering (October).

Install DC FMIC
Paint Calipers, upgrade pads, flush brake system
Install MR brake ducts
370Z front rotors and Jester Caliper Adapter plates (need to buy)

Install Evo 560 injectors
Install Aeromotive fuel pump
Install 19T HL turbos
Install Montaro MAF
Dejon turbo pre pipes, Y pipe
Power coat piping, plenum and valve covers

Install Pampena 6spd bell housing brace

Drop in PRM/Carbing 3 point strut bar
Install OEM chin spoiler and splash guards
Leather Seats.com new seat covers
Straiten up some body lines on the car - turned into welding in new frame pieces
New exhaust gaskets, she stinks a little
install Koyo radiator
Replace drivers side headlight
Dyno Tune for 400+ WHP on 93 pump
Get her into the 11s full weight

Already completed during the "not allowed to mod the car" time

I won best 3000GT, which I guess means second for our group since Frank would have won had he not gotten Best of Show.
And I got a $250 gift certificate.

Started to tear apart the car today. Body lines will be a bit more work to fix that I had first thought, but should go smoothly.

Actually was able to update the front page with a little bit of green, though not much.

No during pictures, I'm actually putting together a time laps video of the install work. So it will be a fun video once all is said and done.

At least now everything is torn down and jacked up so I can get some real work done during the week.

To keep this thread a little more interesting until the whole thing and video is done here are the first and last shots from today.







Got a little bit more taken off tonight. Also had to play with the time lapse pictures a bit.

A lot of progress was made, but unfortunately was mostly progress towards more work.

The first of many for the day.



I think there were 4 total that snapped. All of them on the turbo housings, They all came loose and almost to the end yet they decided to snap. Not even a healthy amount of PB blaster could save them.



Now for the fun pictures. The frame damage on this car is horrible. Or should I say the repair on the original frame damage on the car is horrible. Just to be clear, GZP did not do the frame repair.

I ordered up a new headlight bucket and lower radiator support, most of the other stuff should be salvageable. (hopefully) But will all need to be brushed clean, primed and hit with some paint to seal it properly.

Right now the time lapse videos are at 12 minutes of real time = 1 second on the video.

For the final edited video after the build is done I will probably slow it down/organize the time lapse a bit more.

Thanks! Yeah, the car was originally from Ohio, then bought at an auction after she was totaled. So I'm willing to bet the bulk of the rust is from when she sat in the winter she crashed.

When I bought the car, I was ready for rust. But from only ever working on southern cars, I'm still floored the more and more I dig into her.

ouch you hate to see that. I am sure you will fix it properly.

That's the plan. Fix her up, brush, treat and spray all of the rusted spots.

I need to make a big ACE hardware run and get all nice new bolts in a number of areas on the car. She will be awesome once she is done.

Not looking forward to drilling out the broken stud. Thankfully I only have to drill out one.

get a good drill bit and it will melt right through anything you tell it to cut through.

as a mechanic who has gone through 10s upon 10s of drill bits - you can DEFINITELY tell the $10 bits from the $80 bits.
