what do you think fellas? Should I swap the heads too? I don't see how I'll have the time, but it is a shame to not have them. They have some very nice port work. The cam gears I can't use since they are for a 1G style cas.

Yes swap the heads. I know there is definitely some flow improvement and considering the cost of the gaskets alone for swapping the heads between the cars you can't port a head for that cheap. Honestly too, can you really get extra money for the car based on the mod? To the right person maybe but to the majority of buyers no. Mods don't add value to the car and you'll always lose money. If you don't think you'll have time for it now wait until you do have some or if it's easier buy another set of heads to put back in the 92. I have your old set still sitting in the box if it's a more convenient option make me an offer. I've got them in case I decided to swap the heads off this bent valve 92 VR-4 I have but I may be forced to part the car if I can't even get a few hundred for it which is probably what will happen since nobody will pay $700+ on shipping.

My garage almost matches yours right now. A 95 white Stealth in one stall and a silver 92 VR-4 in the other. I do like the silver better and have always been a fan of the 3000GT rear end over the Stealth but I don't care for the 1st gen dated front end plus it's a high mileage car although pretty much rust free.
95 RT/TT Billet TD04s E70, DW1000cc injectors, ARC-2 with 92mm maf, 3SX fuel rail loop, hotwired Walbro 416/485, 3" FMIC, single small Krank vent, DR 3.5" downpipe and cat-back, DNP 02 housings, Hallman Pro MBC, BlackStealth LCDBC, AEM wideband, AEM oil pressure, Apexi S1 coilovers with SCE EVO 8/9 adapters, 3SX adjustable control arms, Spec 3+ clutch, Maximal solids/3SX poly motor mounts, Setrab custom SMOC, stock motor 127k miles, stock drivetrain.

Yeah that all makes sense, but damn that is a lot of work and unfortunately I only have this 2 car garage for about 2 weeks. The other issue is the snowball effect. If I do the heads, I'll do the timing stuff, if I do that I'll do the oil pump, if I do that I'll do the bearings. I'd like to drive it before winter

The only way to sell cars or parts is to sell them cheap or be patient. The right buyer will come along for your car.

That's funny we have almost the same cars. The 95 looks like it was built last week. The 1992 I've cleaned up and its nice, but the 95 has a lot less miles.

The 92 is a lot more aggressive looking. I like that, but I think I'm past that stage in my life. I just want a sleeper where I can be ignored when I'm just driving normally. The 92 stands out so much I can't pump gas without people talking to me. I'm just not that much of an attention whore anymore. I'd prefer to keep to myself.

hey Greg, I had a quick question for you. I'm trying to only change what is necessary to make power on the 1995. is there a way to keep the EGR functional with the 99 ecu? i'm not doing the vac reduction or charcoal/egr delete, etc if I can help it.

Yes. The purge is the only "issue" at the moment. it's not so much an issue as it is an annoying noise. See the purge on the 91-95 cars is on/off where as on the 96+ it's PWM do you get this obnoxious clicking while it's active. I'm actually on the verge of getting this "issue" fixed for a 95 Spyder owner where all that needs to be done is flip a bit in the code and swap a pin on your adaptor harness.

EGR and FPR solenoid functionality remains like stock.

Are you required to take a sniffer test for emissions?

cool. no we do not have emissions here. just a safety inspection where they check your suspension, brakes, lights etc for wear.
