I'm a Network Engineer. So I spend most of my time working on Cisco 7600s, 4500s, 3800s, ASA firewalls, Linux & Solars servers, and a lot of other shit.

School just wasn't for me, I went to NWTC for a short time but decided not to continue. I'm just working on the CCSP certification right now. Pay is good, but of course I always want more.

I hate our Cisco products, FWIW. They sound like jets taking off, lol. They're easy to work with though

They might have the temperature sensors located in the wrong spot.

There are no temp sensors, they're just basic switches. We have them in an open air rack with Netgear switches that are just about as capable, and the Netgear switches have no fans. They're also much newer than the Cisco ones.

I was talking about their security and stuffs .

How good is the pay Roy?? I may have to do that. I really need a new job instead of cleaning. Where are you getting your certification? Ya I dont like school much either ...I was at MSOE for a year and a half but I just couldnt get myself to do any homework or study . Granted I was passing but not with very good grades. We had a rocking Cisco set up there .

The newer fan trays have multiple speeds they can run at, so most of our routers are quiet until they get a heavy load on them. But I do have some older 3750s with bad fans that are too loud to run on my desk without annoying the hell out of me.

I've got a PDF of the certification guide so I'm just reading that myself, then I'll test somewhere in town.
