Pioneer AVH 4400BH install on my VR-4. Getting ready for the trip to BRG.

After 11 years of service it was time to replace my old pioneer head unit. This is the AVH 4400 with HD Radio, Bluetooth, and iPod hookup. With the trip to BRG coming up I wanted to be able to play music and stream Pandora from my phone.

    My old head unit:

    Flush mount USB port.

Drilled the cover in the middle of the center console and mounted the USB port there.

This turned out to be very clean. I offset the USB port a little bit to leave room for a 3.5mm aux jack.

Soldering and heat-shrink wrapping the wiring harness. No butt connectors allowed in my car!

    Mounted in the car.

In business. I can adjust the LEDs and theme on the head unit to match the stock amber gauges. Very cool.

I still need to route and mount the bluetooth mic and get the 'bypass' for the parking brake so I can adjust the iPhone navigation and play video while in motion but overall I am very happy with this unit. It's definitely a cool toy and it's a much cleaner look on my center console

Sweet! I'm getting so excited about this one. Going to be a good BRG.
