1G DSM head bolts in 2 bolt girdle

1G DSM headbolts in 2 bolt block girdle, and why they are superior (pictures) - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center
I came across this a long time ago and bookmarked it. I don't know how common this is as the guy looks like a hack but he may of been onto something. I would never recommend re-using old head bolts in your block but some brand new ARP ones might be promising.
Basically the deal is that you can thread these in about 3mm deeper and still not bottom out, since you have more thread to grab you can tighten the bolt tighter. Couldn't this over compress the bearings or warp the girdle?

I have h11 dsm head studs in my 2bolt girdle. Much cheaper to buy the ARP studs from Ninja than the h11 from MAP, though. I wouldn't use stock dsm bolts when the ARP studs are so cheap from Ninja.

donniekak assembled my engine. Quite sure they were torqued to 95 ft/lbs. Machine shop line bored the main with the girdle torqued down too. If you buy the ARP's from Ninja, I'm sure Chris will set you straight on what to torque them to. Think I paid $225 for the H11 from MAP. Ninja has the ARP's for only $89.99 and they held to 811awhp when he was still 2 bolt. ARP 6G72 91-92 TT 2 Bolt Main Studs (NP2boltmains) - Ninja Performance - Affordable Performance
