I was just thinking Paul, I also ran the larger filter on the Spyder, no adapter there and no issues....

Toni is the only other person I know that had to grind it. That must be why I didn't know about it

Green Latern and some others have had an issue where part of the stock filter adapter casting prevents the filter from sealing properly all the way around, you may have to file or grind it (keep shavings out of the oil passages):



Be sure to test fire your engine before letting it off the jackstands, a helper is always best.

Looks like Mobil 1 has discontinued the M1-105 oversize filter

the mahle oc138 filter seem to be pretty much the only reasonably priced big filter here in europe these days ...
somebody has made a recent video of it
