Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.
not themselves that's for sure.

I had to use standard sockets/wrenches on my GF's Yukon. That sucked a lot. half that damn car's parts are held together with those damned star looking bits. Who has those things? total PITA.
Those Torx fasteners are metric actually... I haven't seen an SAE fastener on a GM product since the mid 90's when they finally retired the small block chevy. Then you start getting into "special" fasteners, that are Torx+, which are shaped slightly differently, and will strip if you use the wrong tool...
Jeep is completely different story... You can have metric and SAE both just removing a starter... You'll have a bolt going through the block threading into the starter that's metric, and a bolt going through the starter threading into the block that's SAE. And just when you get used to the American car usage of 10,13,15, 18, as opposed to the Japanese 10,12,14,17, you have the Jeep/Mopars that are half Mercedes and toss in a bunch of 11s and 16s...
And the groan of the day....
