The largest detonation was the "Bravo" blast in 1954 as part of Operation Castle. This remains the largest detonation ever conducted by the US.

i mention "radio bikini" because i've watched it personally. i learned a great deal about the tests conducted there. sadly it's a page in our history that is not well publicized.
