Should go without saying. At the point when we changed the standards to push people through--rather than weed people out--it became a serious problem. And we now reap the benefits as evidenced by teachers like the one above. So it is already readily apparent that the quality of the labor force is sub-standard to what is needed. Then you add in unchecked immigration...which usually starts on the minimum-wage side of the employment scale...and you have a recipe for economic ruin; a MASSIVE glut of unqualified, unskilled labor...and an abject dearth of WELL educated & master tradesman labor pool. And that's one of the reasons why "free college for everyone" won't work in this country. It works in countries where the idiots are weeded out of higher education prior to grade 13. Since we've lowered the standards to where a mental quadriplegic can hurdle them, there's simply no way we can afford (on the government dime) to put that number of students through 4 years of undergraduate scholastics.
