just in case i wasn't clear: i make sure my carry-on is immediately accessible. that means ZERO delay on egress. guess that must be a foreign concept to someone who doesn't practice chinese fire drills for a living.

If everyone really was "calmly" egressing the plane as the stupid little laminated trifold sheet in the seat back in front of them said, then they probably figured they may as well grab a bag while they waited in line to go down the Monkey Joes blow up slide.

Not the best of moves in my own opinion.

Of course some people might of been waiting because some idiots were holding up the line grabbing their crap. We don't really know the situation. Everyone might of been standing there waiting on the slide to be deployed. Who knows? If it didn't hold anybody up I don't think I'd condemn a person for grabbing a bag that had blood pressure medicine, lap top, or a good bit of cash.
