It's sad in my opinion. Only reason two strokes are being faded out is because they burn oil. It sure isn't because of performance.

The AMA did everything they could to push the 2 strokes out (including changing track design to favor 4 strokes). It's a shame, really. I'd pick an old school 2 stroke over the newest 4 stroke any day.

Two strokes in general are being phased out. Got one of the last two-stroke waverunners myself. 2007 Yamaha GP1300R, last year they made them was 2008, and other manufacturers stopped a while ago.

Great thing about two-strokes are how simple the engine is, and how cheap it is for a rebuild.
