^^^ reminds me of a story during my Army days, in the early 90's...

New guy came to our unit as an E4 from day one, cause he had a "college degree". He was always trying to prove how smart he was, and we made it our mission to prove otherwise, which as it turns out, wasnt that hard.

One fine day dum-dum (as we called him) jumped into one of the 5ton dump trucks to move it to the mechanic bay, and my best friend waves for him to stop because the truck is "losing fluid rapidly". Dum-dum hangs his head out of the truck and asks, "from where?" Friend tells him to keep his head inside and watch the gauges for any fluctuations while he checks.

Friend then goes around to the passenger side and takes a nice long leak, all over the frame rail and makes sure there is a large puddle on the ground. After a few minutes, dum-dum cant handle not knowing whats going on, so he shuts the truck off, jumps out and comes storming around the side demanding to know whats going on. Friend says, "fine, taste it yourself then cause that the only way to accurately identify what exactly is leaking.".

Dum-dum waited exactly three tenths of a second before he dipped his hand in the mystery fluid and took a nice big lick, trying desperately to distinguish between "bitter equals transmission" and "salty equals radiator"...

...flash forward almost 20 years, because the friend and I manage to get together once in awhile, and we STILL laugh about dum-dum
