This picture kills me for its truth. I know so many people that live by this. I throw as much money as I can at my retirement, and attempt to dish the rest out as evenly as possible. There are so many people that get their paycheck, spend it like money is going out of style, and live for the next one. Makes me worried for our future.

mainly just pisses me off because i know my tax dollars will have to help fund the retirements of people who lived like that. living responsibly is a PITA.

I put nearly 1/4 of my yearly income into my CPP, spoil those that are close to me, and spoil my car... For now, when it's done, finances will take a huge U turn towards my future.

i have no idea what CPP is. what everyone seems to overlook is the years of compound interest lost. you'd be amazed what 5-10 years can do; most retirement plans are based around the idea of "doubling" your money every 7 years or so. if the difference is 300k vs. 600k in your retirement savings...

unfortunately, too many people want to live like hateblazin & live with their parents while "saving for a gt-r". no i will not share the fruits of my frugality.
