There is no historical accuracy to his claims whatsoever. The Japanese bomb program was barely off the ground by the end of the war. They had literally put more resources into the death ray (an anti-personnel microwave beam, which worked, but was a shitty weapon). Even at the end of the war, I don't believe they could even refine uranium, something the US had perfected three years earlier. When the Nazis were about to surrender, they tried to send what little enriched material their own stillborn A-bomb program had produced to Japan (thankfully, it was intercepted when the U-boat surrendered to US forces), but by that point the Japanese had literally had given up on building a bomb. Had they received the shipment, they had planned on using it to make a radiological [dirty] bomb with which they could threaten a suicide attack against San Fransisco in hopes that the US would offer better terms of surrender.

The notion that they, in any way shape or form, invented the A-bomb, or even conceived of it first, is laughable.
