ao, just HOW would you propose i live for this cause? is living even worth it--if it must be under an abridged version of the freedoms i've sworn to defend (with my life, if necessary)? jefferson himself noted that the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time. do you believe that this can be done without bloodshed--even though history tells us that has never been the case? people died before india was free of british rule. people died before civil rights was universally accepted.

the only reason china still exists as an autocratic communist regime--today--is because there wasn't enough bloodshed. there weren't enough people out there pouring into tiananmen square to overwhelm the tryannical powers that were in place. rule by oppression cannot withstand under constant pressure from the ruled to be governed by a system of consent.

oh it would have gotten very ugly, very fast; and i probably would have wound up dead--and there would be ZERO media coverage explaining what really happened. but...since i fully expect some shiens like this to eventually claim my life, at least you'll know why it happened when it does happen. and i'm certain it will happen.
