Oh sure, that's rational. Like saying that if I don't want to be burglarized, I shouldn't have a house/apartment. Seems legit. Might as well insinuate that staying off the road is the only way to prevent being in an accident--so no point in having a driver's license.

Point being that you can SAFELY conduct yourself during various activities. You learn to drive defensively. You learn to use deadbolts, security systems, etc. And preventing various ad trackers & other junk--from monitoring your browsing habits--is just another similar safety protocol. Something that SHOULD be done if you're a diligent & conscious user. Then again, I'm sure you haven't a fucking clue what Conficker is, why Flame is one of the new breed of smart-worms, and why you SHOULD care about what is happening around the internet behind the scenes.

So this story is for everyone else who actually DOES give 2 shits about being safe with their personal info online.
