So let's see, this is a concept that pre-dates the birth of JC by nearly the same amount of time that has transpired SINCE the birth of JC (shy about 300 years). Need I remind anyone of the fact that "pasty white people" didn't really exist back then, and that dark skin & black hair was the norm for everyone. (Surfer Jesus is a f**king myth). And if we're going to be brutally honest, human trafficking is still a huge problem world-over, one that it doesn't take a visit beyond our neighbor to the south--to see in action.

Next I'll point out that despite colonization of the USA itself, this country has advanced to the forefront of the world, while Africa has--in many ways--lagged behind Indochina in modernization, despite both being colonized (France abolished slavery in all it's territory in 1848). I bring this up, because the descendants of the slaves brought to the USA now enjoy lifestyles & freedoms that their modern-day cousins in many parts of Africa...can only dream about. While I won't deny events like what happened in Marion, IN in 1930...I will also happily direct you to the Khmer Rouge & the ongoing strife between Hutu & Tutsi in Rwanda--both countries where colonization existed; both of which have the dubious distinction of being--arguably--the sites of the two worst genocidal incidents in history.

Meanwhile, expats from those countries (i.e. descendants of the slaves forcibly removed from those locations), are living comfortably in Germany, Belgium & France. (No thanks to Leopold 2). I therefore leave you with the words of Ben Folds, who I believe summed it up best:
