BB, like RS before them, lost touch with progress. BB's utter lack of online presence birthed places like Newegg. And I don't mourn the loss. I don't need a zit-riddled 18 year old telling me that "the smaller laptop is better than the bigger one, because it's more portable." Imho, big-box stores will only be around so long as people are insanely impatient or can't be bothered to due-diligence about being an educated consumer.

Home Improvement warehouses are really the only retailer that will never be able to fully go online. Staples, Best Buy, Game Stop, Wal-Mart...all of 'em have better competition online. And don't talk to me about clothes. I shop at Goodwill for a living.

I like the "good point kid"

The one kid "I would not want to live in your time"

It does make me feel old, funny how they think it's hard.

Just proves that life is even easier for them. And when adulthood hits, they'll be crying about how difficult the "real world" is.

Usually people are pleasantly surprised. Not always, but usually. I don't follow the beat of my own drum....more like the beat of my own percussion section.

So does anyone else feel as if they witnessed the massive leap in technology that the 90's/2000's brought with PCs and the Internet?

There have been major leaps in prior generations, but I feel as though the 90's/2000's massively accelerated technology.

I would agree, nick. Between 1900 and 1990, there were advancements, but you still did things quite old fashioned. You called your friends on a landline. You went to their houses in person. Pictures were only taken with dedicated cameras. Information had to be gleaned from books and atlases. But after the internet, all you need is to google something. That's a HUGE change.
